@GolfSpy_BEN For the time being, I’m playing an exec/intermediate 9-hole twice for 18 holes. All told, it’s a par 58. It has a slope and rating. It still okay to submit scores from here until I’m able to get on a regular 18-hole course?

I'll be in a similar situation with my work league being the only consistent play as summer "adulting" responsibilities horn in on my golf schedule

Very interesting, I'll try to post my scores when playing. Could be interesting to integrate with simulators or GPS watch to ease the score posting. Did you look at what could be done?

Good question. We have looked into a couple of things like this, but our challenge is the various options available means picking one at the possible exclusion of those that don’t use those products. Our end goal for this is, and has always been making it available for any member that wants to participate. While the new format does ask for a few more data inputs than seasons past, it is still relatively easy and available to all. Good luck this season and we are glad to have you join us!

Yep, the idea was to ease the process for those equipped with a compatible device but keep the manual one for the others. I looked at how to share a round from Garmin golf app (on Android) and you can only share it as a picture... Might be for later 😅

Good luck to everyone!

With the VCT, you can come and go as you please. There is no weekly obligation to post a score. If you post weekly, great! If you miss a week or three, no worries.

This sounds exactly like what would get me into some more golf challenges. The problem with having a 6 month golf season is that I just don't feel confident enough with my game at the beginning of the season to join a league. Maybe this'll be my chance to get my competitive juices flowing!

I'm actually really curious as to how the new format will shake things up.  I've managed to stay at the top of the pack due to playing regularly  (maybe more than once a week) and lucking out with some good scores and high net birdies.  That was a function of my WHS handicap being pretty high and then getting a semi decent round in, though nothing most people on the forum would sneeze at.  Numbers being what they are, I won out.

The new format is somewhat intriguing as I am currently understanding it.  We all start off with a "blank" handicap that gets established in the first few weeks of play.  Then we are organized into flights that will fluctuate as we progress through the season depending on how we play and place on the current leaderboard.  This sets us up for the end of year tournament (or maybe some mid season events?!?) with comparative league stats vs. WHS standings. All pretty exciting IMHO.

Did I misunderstand @GolfSpy_BEN

Come play!  It costs nothing, and you just submit what you do play.

An alternative if you have a SIM available is to submit that round.  The caveat I believe is that you don't get to use a handicap for scoring purposes, just gross.

This is accurate. We will see how it shakes out over the course of the season, but it should allow us to recognize good performances across the spectrum of skill levels on a weekly basis

Yes. With the caveat, that slope and course rating be included with each nine. Unless it is the front and back of the same course and tee box played in 9 hole increments. Then a slope and course rating for the combined 18 would be acceptable
