My son was in a head on collision today when someone crossed the lanes. My son was driving a 26' box truck, the other guy was I a transit type van and did not survive. My son is more shook up from the images of seeing someone splayed out across the front of the vehicle than anything. We have been sitting in the er for 5 hours now, waiting on the results of the xrays and mri scan.
Glad to hear you say your son is ok other than being shook up over the wreck and the grisly reality of death. Thoughts and prayers with your son, you, and your family.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I've been playing golf for about 18 years now. Didn't take it seriously until about 7 years ago. I carry a 8.9 handicap so I can shoot anywhere from a 75 to a 105. lol

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Worst thing is that there is winter here and we can't golf. There are tons of courses around.

I've played golf for about 13 years seriously, I got started on the golf team my sophmore year of high school. I currently am at around a 5-6 handicap and typically hit in the mid to high 70s.
2. What do you love about golf?
I love seeing the beauty in the courses and the challenges golf presents.
3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?
I love all of the testing that MyGolfSpy does and the depth they go into all of their content.
4. Where are you from? What is your home course?
I'm from Independence, MO and my home course is Swope Memorial Golf Course.
5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?
Best thing about golf in my region is the vast differences in each golf course and how many there are to choose from. The worst is the winter time and not having the opportunity to get out on the course very often.
6. What do you do for a living?
I'm a middle school PE teacher and I coach wrestling and looking for a golf coach position as well.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I started casually playing roughly ten years ago after I graduated high school and baseball was no longer a mainstay in my life. However, those early years were more focused on getting out in the sun and drinking with friends. I started taking my game seriously in 2023 with a couple of lessons and a weekly men's league. Last year it took me 4 months to shoot a 46, this year it took me three weeks. My handicap is still low 20s but if I keep the consistency I've found early on this year for the whole season, we're in for a big year.
What do you love about golf? I love the mental challenge. I used to be an angry golfer, but that was mostly because I didn't have any proper physical or mental fundamentals to rely on. Now, every time I step out on the course, I look forward to those bad shots or blowup holes, those rounds where I'm on a career-best pace, just to see how I respond. Such an uplifting feeling to handle that sort of pressure.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I found the Twitter account first and have been following every since. Great content that I can use when I'm ready to upgrade some of my equipment.
Where are you from? What is your home course? From Indianapolis, IN. My family lived on Old Oakland golf course but we never played or joined.
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Not much to hate about golfing in Colorado - great weather, great views, and all your clubs go a little further in the altitude. The worst thing about my golf experience so far is that I haven't found the younger golfing crowd up here in NoCo.
What do you do for a living? Biotech project management
How’d you pick your user name? I'm not creative enough to pick something funny

Good Friday morning Spies!
Nice cool start to the day after the weather passed through last night. Fortunately, we dodged the worst of it as it went North and South of us.
Stay safe out there @Rob Person.
Stay cool down your way @Dead Solid Bogey...
Good call yesterday and good to her more people are gravitating to graphite iron shafts.
Everyone have a great day and hope it is a smooth launch into your weekend.

Good morning all!
Long time reader, first time poster. Coffee is the only reason to crawl out of bed in this house. The wife and I have a noses out race every morning for who has to make it ( I never win).
Welcome to the thread! Great place to start the day.

Happy Birthday Everyone! May your day be special!

I still carry and use a 5 iron for short par fours that require a layup off the tee for optimum approach distance or to avoid a hazard. I have been considering adding a 3 or 4 driving iron to the bag in lieu of my 4 hybrid.

Good Thursday morning Spies!
Having a couple of biscuits and getting ready to do battle with fellow Senior against the golf gods... Outlook is promising but questionable for a good round, however, the trash talk and storytelling is always above par.
Looking forward to the community call later this afternoon.
Hope everyone has a safe and prosperous day!
If you get the opportunity hope fairways and greens are the order of the day!

Happy Birthday @KFGgolf and @Bassbeamer!

Was able to get out this morning and play my "home course" from my high school golf days. My 2 best ever rounds were at this course, until today. Obviously it helps I've been playing here for 30 years and know all the breaks, good spots, etc. However, we've had alot of rain in Louisville and it was soggy, and a cart path only day.
Anyways, I had all cylinders firing, was switching between a left dash ProV1x and Tour B RX, and officially fired of a -3 68, my lowest ever round, and first ever time in the 60's!!!!!!!! I'm 40, been playing since I was a kid and could never break 70. When I say the shot scope has helped I'm not joking. Being able to track my data the last year has been a real game changer! That being said, I'm sure next time I play I'll probably shoot a 90 or some s*** lol! That's it for now, y'all have a great day. I'm gonna bask in my glory haha!
Great Round!

Good Wednesday morning Spies!
Well back on the home front today just in time for 100% humidity with temps in the upper 80's... Heat index will be around 100* so won't be any yard work happening today as I had planned. More rain with possible storms tonight and into the morning. Hoping it doesn't cancel the weekly outing.
Well, I guess today will be getting everything sorted back out and in place from the Beach trip. I am sure SWMBO will keep me busy with the boring, mundane, and totally humdrum tasks to be completed signaling an end to a great trip.
Sorry to hear of your FIL's situation@RichL85 thoughts and prayers with you and your family.
Well, the mistress of mayhem has signaled it is time for the beatings to commence so I will bid you good morning.
Have a great day everyone.

How long have you been playing golf? Just over a year.
What’s your handicap or normal score? I don’t have an official handicap, it’s definitely something I need to do but based on what I’ve read on how to calculate it’s around 14.
What do you love about golf? The way it keeps me coming back. Even if I’m having a terrible round, I’ll hit one beautiful shot that went exactly where I intended and it gets me right back in it. I also enjoy that while I’m playing I’m not thinking about work or anything really except hitting the ball, it’s really almost like therapy to me.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? A MyGolfSpy post popped up on my instagram feed “testers wanted”, which is an amazing concept. Also, besides my wife, I don’t really know any other golfers so it seemed like a good place to connect with people who want to talk about the same thing as me: GOLF. Don’t know any other spies yet.
Where are you from? What is your home course? I’m from Concord, NC but I’ve been living in Thomasville, GA for about 4 years. I moved here for work. I recently became a member of the local course, Country Oaks Golf Course.
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The best is definitely I can play basically year a round and the worst would be the summer heat. South Georgia is rather hot so I book the earliest tee times.
What do you do for a living? I’m an operations supervisor for a manufacturing facility that makes golf cart accessories.
How’d you pick your user name? It’s kinda my go to for social media. I think they’re all some sort of variation.

@Erin BI did notice the box marked "umbrella holder," I certainly wouldn't deploy the umbrella in the wind unless you can run real fast...
