Its really common that a home viewer will have substantially greater expertise and a more appropriate viewing angle than an actual trained rules expert standing a few feet from the player.  🤣

At least from my thinking the t400 is aimed at a specific set of golfers who are loosing distance and want to regain or retain some. As long as they still fly high it really shouldn't matter what the lofts are. It would likely make a combo set harder to work, but with tech going as far as it has its pretty much shown that lofts can be super strong and we still see similar launch conditions as more modern lofts.

If this is where Titleist is going for their new 2023 T-Series Irons, I can’t wait to see the T100, T100S, T200 and T300.

I'll say these are the best set they've ever made.  
This was the turning point where TaylorMade became a preeminent brand on Tour.  Top players were choosing TM over Mizuno, Titleist and Ping as well some others in the graveyard of phenomenal brands (MacGregor, Wilson & Hogan).

Picked up a new set of T300 with Tensi red, a U505 20* today.

The Miura 601 iron’s are gone. They were good irons and I played well with them but the bag chatter got to me. It’s kinda pathetic but my ocd just got the best of me. It’s why I use iron headcovers! Haha. 
 
Thought I had a set of PXG Gen4 0311P Xtreme Darkness irons on eBay. Won the auction in the middle of the night but the seller canceled the sale before I could pay. 🤬 Apparently he forgot to set his reserve and didn’t realize it. I asked what his reserve was and it was $400 more than I won the auction at. No thanks. 
 
So instead I have a set of custom 718 Titleist T-MB 5-PW heads coming. Pics make them look amazing with the dark finish on the back/sole removed.  The big question left is do I install the recoil 95 shafts or find something different?🤔

My custom Mizuno Pro 223 irons came in! I went 4-PW with Nippon Modus 120 Stiff shafts and Golf Pride ZGRIP Cord grips.

In terms of compression, the regular Z-Star is softer than a ProV1. However, the cover is thinner and a lot of "feel" is actually sound, especially on less-than-full swings. The new Z-Star Diamond is going to be the same compression as the XV, both should be a touch firmer than the PV1x. 
If soft and spinny is what you want, check out the Bridgestone Tour BXS or the Taylormade TP5. Both are going to be lower-launching, so that might something worth keeping in mind. If you need high-launch, high-spin, and low-compression, you're quickly moving towards Kirkland territory, or maybe even Mizuno?

Other note from watching it. Having the shotgun start, was really nice from the viewing standpoint. If I was a spectator going to the event, 5 hours onsite to watch the whole event is a lot better then 9+ hours if you want to watch at a normal pga event. I did like that.

Went for a new driver this year but nothing can come close to the Mavrik.
3 Wood - Ping 410 sft Tensei AW white 75 x flex (230 -220 yards)
Irons 5 - GW - Mizuno 225 nippon modus 120 stiff (200 - 110 yards)
Wedges - 52 Callaway jaws, 56 Callaway 19PM , 60 Callaway 19PM ( All KBS HI-REV)
Putter - Scotty Cameron GOLO 3
Ball - Seed SD -X1 (Best ball and so cheap)
All SST pured except wedges.
Will be putting a 5 wood in sometime this year but haven't decided yet.

Yea it's easier for me to hit a draw with these so I would say  they either want to go straight or belly over to the left.  Actually I don't recall any of my approach shots finishing on the right side of the hole.
