    TESTERS ANNOUNCED!
MyGolfSpy Forum had a near record amount of registrations for this test and it certainly was not easy to narrow it down to get to our 6 testers.

    From L.A.B.
All golfers have had those days when their putting stroke feels completely off. What they’re feeling is torque — the twisting of the putter head — and it’s the enemy of consistent putting.
Lie Angle Balance (L.A.B.) is a patented technology we developed that simplifies putting. It eliminates torque from the design of a putter, giving all golfers the ability to consistently repeat their stroke — especially when the pressure is on.
Whether you’re a great putter or a golfer who frets every 5-footer, our putters and grips will help you become a better putter. That means lower scores… and more bragging rights.

Please welcome and congratulate our 6 testers who will partake in a long term L.A.B. Putter review!

Bob M reacted to tony@CIC in Vice Golf Balls - Unofficial Review
    Unofficial Review Vice Golf Balls
Background: I’m 76, swing speed ~81, generally play 5,800 yds. Avg driver distance is 191 (current Shotscope PAVG) but on a regular basis hit over 200 yds. My longest drive this year has been 228 yds. Scores range from mid 80’s to an occasional mid 90 on a bad day. I have been fit several times and play the SIM 2 Max D with an Airspeeder shaft R Flex  10.5 degree set to neutral. My fitter who is an independent shop, does outdoor fittings with Trackman. His recommendation for golf balls based on my game was Pro V1X.  Best part of my game is 100 yds in and specifically chipping.
I’m fortunate to live on a golf course both in Ohio and Florida.  On the #1 Par 4 hole in Ohio all of the guests try going over the pond to hit the green. With a 240 yd carry, I get to go out at night and collect lots of brand new balls. You name it and it’s in my ball bucket which exceeds well over 1,000 balls. So I’ve gotten to practice with lots of different brands and models. Note: I practice with them but never play a regular round because those balls have bad juju also known as a 'self fulfilling prophecy.😉
Being retired and playing  5 times a week  there’s no way I can opt for brand new Pro V’s. I tried 5A used ones from LostBalls.com but based on early MGS Ball Lab results and input from MGS Forum members I switched out to DTC brands. I started out with Snell MTB-X but after a season switched to MTB Blacks. With the supply chain shortages, price increases  and limited Snell stocks, I decided to switch to Vice. Here's the link to the Ball Lab test. While it does recommend the Pro Plus for higher swing speeds I found it worked well for me. https://mygolfspy.com/ball-lab-vice-pro-golf-ball-review/
I’m currently playing Vice Pro Plus, compression = 95. But have also tried Pro, compression = 85 and Pro Soft, compression = 70.
I found that the Pro Plus plays and feels like MTB-X and Pro V1 X, while the Pro is more like a MTB Black or Pro V1.
Since my wife’s supply of MTB Blacks was beginning to run low, she wanted to try the Vice balls. Note: she occasionally plays SuperSoft.  I bought her a doz of the Pro Soft to try out and after one round she definitely didn’t like them. I decided to try them as well on a couple of holes. The results; Pro Soft is definitely not a ball I will game, I just don’t like the feel and performance of a soft ball – just my personal preference.
I always buy in the 5 doz lots but wait for the Vice specials which can be either an extra doz or free shipping. I don’t lose every many balls so I can be patient for the specials from Vice. And at 28.99 how can you go wrong. Outside of ball performance I give credit to their design and marketing department. The packaging is cool and they’re extended their product line to clothing and towels. Neither of the latter two are appealing to me unless they plan on sponsoring me .
The Good and Not So Good
    First the "Not So Good"
The colored balls; neon green, shade, etc with may lose some coating after one round - hardly visible but still noteworthy. So far I haven't noticed this with the "drip' version. They’re not scuff marks but just where the final paint/coating came off.  The ball is perfectly playable and it’s just cosmetic. I’ve played several rounds with the same sleeve, and they don’t show scuff marks even though one or two may have bounced off a tree or cart path 🤣.  The pic below shows the paint issue - note disregard the blue mark on the top of the ball as that's how I identify my ball.

If you’re buying in bulk vs. local Big Box store, don’t be surprised to have them being shipped from Germany. This is not a shipping cost issue but rather turnaround time from order to delivery which takes anywhere from 5-7 business days. I’ve been spoiled by Snell which I generally received in about 3 days.
    The Good
I’ve cut open several Vice balls and regardless of the type; Pro Plus, Pro, or Pro Soft, the cores are uniform.
Also for those that are interested in something other than white, Vice offers a number of different color options. Note the shade (both color variations) along with the neon green are the most visible in the fairway

The Pro Plus and the Pro are great off the tee and around the green. My Shotscope data shows that overall I’m longer off the tee – is that because of tweaks to my swing, new more stable golf shoes or ball? Who knows but whatever it is I’m sticking to it.  I’m not that consistent of a golfer nor do I have the equipment to judge the spin characteristics, but my sense is that the Plus has a bit spinier around the green.
Overall Score: I give Vice a 10 out of 10 for value and an 9 for performance.

Bob M got a reaction from GolfSpy_APH in Cobra Driver- low spin
I hit my driver high, and could see that my ball drops straight down and gets no extra distance. So when I tried a bunch of new drivers last year I I found Three that I liked, including a new Taylormade ( my go to brand) a new Callaway and, at the salesman's suggestion for low spin, a Cobra King Speedzone Driver. Then I was fitted on a track man at the shop. Wow, with both the Taylermade and Callaway Drivers I had about 6000 rpm spin and a rapid descent, but with the mill face of the Cobra i was at 1800 rpm spin with a much improved flight and distance. Bought this driver on the spot with this data.
My golf buddies all noticed immediately the improved distance and straighter flight with this Cobra. This really sold me on Cobra- i went out and bought the 3 wood without even hitting it. I really love these two clubs for their low spin.

I agree he has the right to play. The tournament probably will benefit financially as he is a former major champion and can help with marketing (ticket/sponsor sales). Provided he's not making cuts/playing poorly,  I would rather have him in a KF tournament than taking a spot(by sponsor exemption) that could go to a good young player in a PGA event. Plus the guys on the KF tour can say they got to play with a former major champion. No problem for me.

I agree 100% - good for Vijay to try to move back up to contention by playing in a tournament that he qualified for. Looking to other sports, how different is this than a major leaguer going to the minor leagues in an attempt to improve and return to the big leagues

Fantastic - golf opened back up in MI despite the stay at home order. I couldn’t wait to get out the first official day. It was walking only, something I haven’t done much in years, so I pulled out my trusty pull cart and really enjoyed. It always surprises me how much more focus I have when I walk to my ball instead of jumping in a cart and driving back and forth all over the course to my ball and my partners ball. One good thing about our current pandemic- enjoy walking the golf course!

I agree, and I walk as much as I reasonably can (with my QOD motorized trolley humping my clubs for me).  However, I have a feeling that most people will return to their old habits when they're allowed to.
I know you work at a course, if there really IS a change in habits, has there been any thought as to how this will effect the course financially?  Any club that hosts events will still need to maintain a pretty full fleet of carts, and a big part of the costs is the purchase/lease price, that won't change if they're utilized substantially less.  Less use means a longer life, eventually lowering costs, but in the short term less cart rental will mean less income.

I'm not sure Bryson will ever have anything in that picture Koepka posted.
