tommc23
I just saw that Bones will be on the bag for JT next week. With Jimmy Johnson being out injured Bones will be on the bag. I wonder if this is his way back into caddying full time again? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

hckymeyer
They both happen to be in Hawaii and Bones said he was happy to help out. I have a feeling we will see Bones walking the course for a long time to come, but with a microphone instead of a golf bag. He seem very natural as a commentator and I got the impression this was a one off favor to JT due to an unexpected injury. He was terrible at the beginning but has improved greatly. I think he got some help in the short off season. Yep, I think it's this exactly, more the fact that Bones is in Hawaii and handy, and they obviously know each other well from Ryder Cup and President Cup teams. I think the injury was said to be a 4 week one. Not sure what JT's schedule is for the rest of January, but I think it's strictly a one or two time thing, and of course JJ will be back on the bag when he's healthy. I think he's body will no longer tolerate lugging one of the Winnebago bags around the course long term. And yeah, no doubt having been through a double knee replacement myself, I can tell you how hard that would be on the knees. hckymeyer
JT must have had a lot offers to carry the bag, he made a post on social saying thanks for the offers but he's already got the bag covered during JJ's recovery. What would be interesting is if he win's with Bones on the bag. Could he talk him in to staying for another tourney as good luck? Kor.A.Door
I think Bones' knees can't handle the full time caddying responsibility, but leisurely walking with a microphone is different. What I like about his commentating is that he actually has an idea what he's talking about. He can give comments about what the caddy and golfer may be discussing and how they work out what they want to do. He can be a bit dry at times, but the knowledge he has overshadows that in a big way. Lefties are always in their Right Mind
