M3/M4 irons

I'm looking for any thoughts or opinions from those that have hit or play the above irons as well as how they would compare to similar offerings from Callaway, Titlest, or mizuno. I'm a 12 and should be playing the most appropriate model for my handicap.

I hit both at a recent Taylormade event.

Without knowing your game and going strictly off your handicap, which is a horrible way to recommend irons, i realize. I would say you would get the most out of the M3.

They are plenty forgiving and i got to ask the engineers who worked on both models the target handicap range for esch.

The M3 is perfectly suitable for anyone from a 5 to 18 HC.

The M4 is more geared at the 20 and above who needs help all the way around, getting the ball in the air, distance and forgivness. As such its a very big iron in looks. Lots of offset and thick top line and wide sole.

The M3 has some helo in those areas but is not nearly as off putting.

I'm a 17 and i don't hit the bsll very far. But i was getting a nice high flight with the M3. It may not habe been going any further than my current irons. But it was Definitly as forgiving and just as far.

If i were ti buy a TM iron now, it would be the M3 or P 790.

I appreciate the feedback. The P790 look great as well but may exceed my game at this point.

For what its worth, parsons the engineer i talked to said the 790 were perfectly playable for a handicap up to 16/17.

At 12 you can go player's irons or CB.

Hell, I played Mizuno MP59 when I was still 28 hcp and all the way down to 15.

M series are too chunky for my taste

Are the M3's considered a Player's iron, Game Improvement, or somewhere in between?

I'd rate the m3 as a GI iron. I don't think that it is significantly different than the m4. I've hit them both and would say that the p series is a more exciting option.
