The Links at Petco Park is Back

Many of you may remember this from the past couple years, a really cool thing that Callaway does that combines two favorite pastimes, baseball and golf.   I know I've sat in the box seats at Nat's Park many times and wondered if I teed one up could I hit the parking garage over the Left Center field stands and pavilion, about 500 feet away,  Ok.....maybe a bit less than teeing it up , as 500 feet equals 166  yards, so maybe a flushed 5 iron for this short knocker.

Anyway, if you haven't' herd about it, here's the details.

From Callaway'sPress Release

The Links at Petco Park, the original and the best stadium golf experience, is back this week in downtown San Diego. This is the fourth year in a row for the event, which is hosted by Callaway Golf and the San Diego Padres, and it runs through next Wednesday, 11/12. As part of the experience, golfers have the unique opportunity to take shots onto the playing field from various tees along an unrivaled, redesigned course within the ballpark.

The fully-immersive nine-hole course features signature holes from years past at home plate and the roof of the Western Metal Supply Co. building. As part of the course layout configuration, participants are also able to tee off from underneath the National League’s largest video board screen in left field.

Holes throughout the course feature unique themes and the opportunity to win prizes, and in fact one participant made a hole-in-one earlier the week to win a new OGIO Alpha Convoy golf bag. Golfers are escorted by their own dedicated caddy as well throughout their round. Mulligans are available for players with proceeds benefitting Pro Kids, an organization aimed at serving underserved youth by promoting character development, life skills and values through education and the game of golf.

Celebrity attendees who have played the course this week include: Xander Schauffele, Hank Haney, Joe House and Geoff Shackelford from the Shackhouse Golf Podcast on The Ringer, Amanda Balionis from CBS Sports, and popular bands Iration and Rebolution, among others. You can find more info on the Links at Petco on our new dedicated website (link here). And you can see our video from the event here (link).

Had to pass in meaning you wanted to but couldn't, or had to pass as it was not your cup of tea.

They had a very similar one last year at Fed Ex Field--football for Redskins--but wasn't quite the same as a baseball field.   I can't recall if it came to Nat's park or not.

Had to pass as in I could not get away from the office, going to see the Eagles game Sunday night and could not be off today and Monday.  I did it last year at Citi Field and it was a blast.
