ChromeSoft XLS Durability

Recommended Posts

I had been doing some ball testing and the #s showed the ChromeSoft XLS being probably the best fit. I got a sleeve of XLS and X as it was very close at lest for me. I think I am leaning towards the XLS as Texas is windy more then not and I tend to balloon it in the wind. But I have some concerns with durability as the cover has marked up very quickly. To be fare it has been full swings with a full wedge doing it mainly and it’s not ripping the cover but I haven’t got that same on the Prov1 or Maxfli tour. I have kept paying them but I am not very picky and will play a ball longer than most. But curious what others have seen playing it as I am basing this off 2 balls so far.

I think the cover does not hold up very well. I did the ballnamic ball fitting and was recommended the XLS, I bought a dozen and while I like the performance, I don't love it and think I get more out of the Bridgestone Tour BX and ProV1 in performance and durability. I'll likely keep playing one of these going forward.

Thanks for the feedback. The Bridgestone BX was high for me on ballnamic as well so might need to check it out. Also thinking on checking out the Srixon XV as I hear it’s durable.
