Not as soft as the white hot insert, and it takes feel out of the shot but becomes more audible. You can hear your mishits but it certainly creates a lot more top roll. The ball moves further with less energy, for shorter putts I needed adjustment but not a huge learning curve. I think both have a very concrete application depending on your feel
