Best Net to Use at home

Recommended Posts

Just had my first kid. Obviously that limits the amount of time I can get to range/course. Trying to get my fix while being at home as well save some money from going to an actual range.

Can anyone recommend a budget friendly net? My plan is to buy a used mat and use some old balls I have collected over the last couple seasons.

Just for reference I have about 7-10 feet across and about 7 ft tall. I’ll be hitting in my driveway and into my garage so need to cover that space

I use this one from Rukket and haven't had any issues. Pretty simple to set up and take down.

How long have you had it and how’s it hold up?

I've had it for three years I believe and it's got a lot of use. No signs of any tears/rips or anything like that.

One of the key factors is, in my opinion, is how easy it is to setup and take down.  I have a net and I hate it.  It takes so long to setup and once I do,  I have lost interest in using it.  In the market myself for a better one.

Best budget option is the harbor freight black mesh nets.  Super durable and have eye holes to mount on a pole or rope.

I have had a Ruckett.  I now use a NetReturn (Home Version).  The NetReturn is much better.  I do not take it apart.  Because, while it is easier to set up than the Ruckett, it's still a 5 minute job.

I build mine using 2” PVC pipe which I painted because PVC pipe isn’t UV resistant. The corner connectors are 2” PVC furniture fittings. I ordered a custom sized net online from a company that specializes in golf netting.  It’s 10 X 10 cube open on one side.

I didn’t glue it together at first so I could take it apart, but it wobbled too much. After gluing it together, it’s solid. I added weight to the bottom after the wind blew it over.

After three years, it’s still solid and the net shows no wear (one of my main concerns).
