BallsLeon
Kept up my yoga this week with 2 hot yoga classes, 2 power sculpt classes, and a bonus restore stretching class. Bumped up weight this week for the power sculpt class, almost made it the whole class before dropping back down. On the golf side only got one day of swing practice in, but walked 18 holes yesterday. Hoping weather stays nice enough to keep walking 18 once a week, my favorite workout of the week. Going to start working some biking in, and potentially running as the weather gets nicer here. ejgaudette, cksurfdude, Javs and 2 others 5 Quote Driver : Rogue ST Max LS, 10.5° loft, MCA TENSEI AV White 65g, Stiff flex (44.5", Draw setting) 3-Wood: Rogue ST LS, 15° loft, MCA TENSEI AV Blue 65g, Reg flex (42.25", tipped 0.5") 3-Utility: 699 Pro V2 Utility Satin, 18° loft, HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80g, 5.5 flex Irons: T200 6i-GW, 27°-48° lofts, Nippon Modus3 120g, Stiff flex (+0.25”, 1° upright) Wedges: Indi FLX S-Grind, 52°/56°/60° lofts, Dynamic Gold Spinner 115g, Wedge flex Putter: King Vintage Sport 60, SteelFiber P125 shaft (34"), Quad Tour Taper grip Bag: Ultralight Pro, Ski Patrol/Black Push Cart: Nitron, Black/Red Rangefinder: Bushnell Tour V5 Shift 2023 MGS Forum Review: Sugar Golf Balls (Final Review Posted) 2023 MGS Forum Review: Sycamore 009 Mini Putter (Final Review Posted) 2024 Unofficial Review: The "Putting Thing" by WhyGolf -TJ

Could be a place to start to at least have a guide to work off of. https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-scale-x So I ended up picking up one of these - their email status updates are great and the product arrived .. well protected in its box .. within 2 days. Mentioned previously I'm not concerned about weight per se as mine has been in a reasonably steady range for years .. but interested in tracking muscle %tge, and related, as I age (68 now). You can use the scale without the companion app just for weight, but with the app you get 12 metrics .. which the app stores so you see the trend for each over time. Turns out (happily) everything is pretty good for me except for Water% .. which I kinda suspected as I know I should be drinking more water than I do now during the day (2-3 x 20oz vs should be 4x20). At only $34 it seems like a bargain to easily track these stats (as many times as you care to step on the scale). taylorjonasher
Workout today - Push Hypertrophy Week 1/4 https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/13934798266?share_unique_id=178 I am planning on running my current splits, but throwing myself a curve all and focusing on hypertrophy for a month. Reducing weight 25-35% of where I was at and doing two sets to failure with two minutes rest between sets. Today was good. We'll see how I handle zipping up a jacket tomorrow. Calories of the weekend: Several in and probably not as many out. I got lazy and didn't track everything. Friday was a little over, Saturday was pretty close, and yesterday I channeled my inner Professor Klump and got silly with the spread at the super bowl party. taylorjonasher
Todays Workout - Pull Hypertrophy - Week 1/4 - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/13942759257?share_unique_id=181 Blasted myself today. I didn't go crazy on deadlifts in an effort to protect my back, but it still got pretty tight. I only did three sets of weighted back extensions and sit ups as a result. I think I will probably move the DL's to a maintenance schedule and do three sets of 8 at an intermediate weight instead of going lighter and higher reps, as I think I will be able to maintain form better. ejgaudette
Have been working through things well here. I am down about 4 pounds so far and have been getting back into running more frequently. My wife has also been up early and getting some walking and running in so that has helped motivate me to get going as well. Also still be doing mobility and body weight training as this is all I can fit in right now while I am teaching an online course. Once that is done hoping to add in fit for golf's foundations workout just to keep things in shape, don't really have the time for much else right now. Eating is still solid and continuing to cut back a bit on the processed stuff, and recently added some silken tofu and/or PB protein powder to my usual smoothie. Like this PB powder as it is just peanuts, no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, and still manages 24 grams of protein in a similar amount to something like Orgain just without the terrible artificial after taste that I just could not do. So I like that addition to try and up the protein just a bit to help the muscles as I lose weight overall. jbern, BallsLeon, taylorjonasher and 1 other 4 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Ventus Blue 6X (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 18° Evenflow Riptide 70g 6.0 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 S | SMS 4-5/SMS Pro 6-PW Steelfiber i95 S (2023 Official Review) Glide 4.0 50°.12°S/54°.14°W/58°.6°T PING Z-Z115 Wedge Flex | SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 Hoofer Bag | Pro V1 | Right Handed | Tracked by V3

jbern
Today is a rest day. Monday was the start of week 3 out of 4 on my Tonal "Everyday Fit" program and it was a leg day. Yesterday was upper body. I'm not enjoying this program very much and I'll be happy to change programs after this one's over. As far as weight loss and fitness, I have lost 3 lbs since the start of the year, but I definitely feel stronger. I think I haven't lost as much weight as I was hoping because of diet choices so I'll plan to put a focus on that this upcoming week. I should probably start to track my diet to hold myself accountable, but I don't like the idea of opening an app every meal. I too am a little discouraged with my current weight loss - I'm down 4-5 lbs (depending on the day I weigh in), but am lagging behind the pace that I set for myself. Based on my caloric deficit calculations, I should be a few more down. The only other explanation I can give myself is that I've offset fat loss with additional muscle mass. I've noticed my belly is smaller and flatter, but haven't noticed any obvious gains in size anywhere else. I think some of it is pace (it’s the same workouts every week so now that I know the moves I don’t like the chit chat between sets). Some of it is generic style of the workouts. You’re not doing strength and you’re not doing high intensity, it’s just 8 reps here, then 20 reps there and it doesn’t feel like there’s a goal. tony@CIC
I've been fairly diligent in my workout out plan in February with 9 days out of 14 logged in. Note: that doesn't include any steps counted from golf, which is 4 times a week. I'm not using a fitness app to track progress, but rather just working through my documented plan - that includes progressive weight increases. However, I've seen 2 positive impacts; The first is gradual weight loss which is approx. 1 lb. a week. The other, interestingly enough is club distance (primarily driver and 3 wood) which I'm tracking through Shotscope. The distance gain is a pleasant and unexpected surprise and provides sufficient motivation to continue. In the summertime I make one about every day. cksurfdude 1 Quote WITB (link to detailed post here): Driver: LTDx 9* (ProjectX BlueSmoke Stiff) Fairway metals: 3W TSR2 14.25* (ProjectX BlueSmoke Stiff) | 5W Gen4 0341XF (Mitsubishi Tensei Blue 75 S) Hybrid: 4H Gen4 0317XF (Mitsubishi Tensei Blue 75HY S) Irons: 659 CB 5-AW (Project X Rifle 6.0) Wedges: 286 54* & 58* (KBS Tour 120 S) Putter: AL-6 armlock | Unofficial review here Ball: pro drip: red & blue | Tour S Pushcart: 4.0 | '23 MGS Clicgear 4.0 Pushcart Tester | Link here

Preeway
I've fallen off the wagon, so to speak, and have not been able to maintain any sort of schedule with work and personal life being so crazy. I'm back to square one starting fresh and re-committing myself to a routine. One thing that I'm going to do starting this weekend is meal and snack planning for a least a couple of days, but hopefully the whole week. Knowing what you're going to eat ahead of time can do a lot for a diet and it speeds up meal times and prep if you're busy! If I think of it, I'll post the plan on this thread to help keep myself accountable. cksurfdude, Preeway, ejgaudette and 1 other 4 Quote WITB (link to detailed post here): Driver: LTDx 9* (ProjectX BlueSmoke Stiff) Fairway metals: 3W TSR2 14.25* (ProjectX BlueSmoke Stiff) | 5W Gen4 0341XF (Mitsubishi Tensei Blue 75 S) Hybrid: 4H Gen4 0317XF (Mitsubishi Tensei Blue 75HY S) Irons: 659 CB 5-AW (Project X Rifle 6.0) Wedges: 286 54* & 58* (KBS Tour 120 S) Putter: AL-6 armlock | Unofficial review here Ball: pro drip: red & blue | Tour S Pushcart: 4.0 | '23 MGS Clicgear 4.0 Pushcart Tester | Link here
JFish350
Hey fellas I’m in that boat as Preeway but different reasons. My low back and bulging discs, sciatic all decided to flare up at the same time. I tried to push through, but that extended my recovery time. I finally just stopped everything “excluding work” to try and get this under control. the last 3 months have been crap physically and my mental status had fallen into the outhouse as well. I’ve gone 3 separate chiropractors, 2 physical therapists, and luckily I found a fantastic massage therapist. If it wasn’t for her, I’m not sure I would have made it through my dark days. Also only one acupuncturist. I will attribute the last month and getting back to the gym to massage and acupuncture. I joined orange theory and have made some good progress with that and also a personal trainer who awesome at working with my limitations. sorry for dissertation, but I’m exited again to be back in the gym and moving even if it slow right now. a month ago there is no way I’d pick up a golf club, today I put my clubs in the truck and hoping to hit some golf balls today even if it’s only 20-30. Keep up the good work fellas. Preeway, BallsLeon, taylorjonasher and 3 others 5 1 Quote Sub 70 949 D 9* HZRUDS 60G 6.5 smoke RDX shaft.
