I don't know what I did over a year ago but, something changed and now I hardly ever take a divot and it causes a lot of shots to be topped or they never get up more than 2 or 3 feet off of the ground. Any help would be appreciated so that I can start striking the ball well again.

The simple answer is learn low point control and arc depth.  Adam Young talks about this a lot.

Without a video there’s no way to say how to fix things.

blind guess is your steep in the downswing and early extending which requires a bunch of compensations that you aren’t making or making late.

Could also be caused by ball position which will affect the compensations being made

Drop the ball back in the stance a little bit, learn the low point of your swing, and look at the front of the ball when you swing, as this will help move the low point of your swing forward and induce more downward contact with the ball.
