Custom KM-700s: surprisingly forgiving and worthy to be placed on my mantle.

Recommended Posts

About a month and a half ago, Will Peoples over at Peoples Golf sent me a KM-700 7i outfitted with an Axiom 105x, and after about 10 swings on the simulator, I was hooked. I frantically emailed him wanting to order a set, and we went to work thinking of how we might want them to turn out.

He suggested I leave the design up to his team, and I thought that would be a great idea. I told him my favorite color, and 4 weeks later, these showed up. Absolutely stunning.

but how about performance?

find my review below:

Looks:

I don’t think an iron set should look this good. I mean, I don’t want to put a dent or scratch on these things. I put iron covers on them just to preserve the look and prevent bag chatter.

SCORE: 10/10

Feel:

The Miura feel is quite distinct among forged iron sets, as they offer a crisp butter feeling. This is my second set, and I must say, the KM-700s are a bit more buttery than my CB-302s.

They are not quite as buttery as Srixon’s and not quite crisp as Mizuno’s, but rather something in between.

I personally am addicted to the feel of these irons

SCORE: 10/10

Performance:

This is what surprised me the most  Let me start off by saying I’m only an okay player. I’m a 15 handicap. My ball striking is decent, and I am actively working to get better via lessons and alot of range time.

These irons are forgiving for being blades. More forgiving than I would have expected . Distance numbers for me are consistently 175-180. I can shape a shot on command. I do think the shafts play a big part in this though, as they are lighter than my previous gamers.

All in all, these irons deliver on accuracy, forgiveness, and distance, especially for being a blade. They are still a blade though, so they do punish bad shots, which is to be expected

SCORE: 9/10

Conclusion:

I could not be more happy with this set of irons. For those on the fence, take the leap. And work with a builder like Peoples Golf to ensure they are built to your exact specs.

SCORE: 10/10
