ShimmyCocoBop
It seems to me a weird coincidence that Keith Pelley, CEO of the DP World Tour, Martin Slumbers, CEO of the R&A Golf Club of St. Andrews, and Seth Waugh, CEO of the PGA of America have all resigned their positions in 2024. In a slightly less powerful job, Jimmy Dunne also resigned his position on the PGA Tour Policy Board. Waugh is the only one that will remain with his organization as a "Senior Advisor". Could it be that none of them want to be involved with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund battle that is being kicked down the road. Or is it something else? Rob Person
Something is definitely brewing. With the chatter about "what's next?" because of the upcoming pga/liv Grudge Match (as I like to call it) I'm sure there are already backdoor deals being hashed out. ShimmyCocoBop
For golf in general, I used to have a giant hankering for as much golf as TV could offer. But now, there is so much golf on TV, whether amateur or pro, that I'm like Rob Person 1 Quote After retiring from the PGA of America, I did some demo days and club fitting for various OEMs.
jolter1
Something in the back of my mind is telling me that those who were in positions of power within the golf world slowly became unsatisfied with the leadership of the PGATour as to how they are handling negotiations with PIF. Not everyone views PIF in the same way as certain bodies in the US and they feel the PGATour may have gotten too big for its britches and is just dragging its feet irregardless as to how it affects the rest of the golf world.
