The purpose of a “simulator”, to me, is to get accuracy

    Simulated accuracy? 🤔

Ha. I understand what you're saying. Honestly though; anything other than a top of the line "pro" model is a toy IMO. Sure, these low end models would be fun and entertaining especially for those where outdoor golf is not doable during the winter. I get that. I might do the same thing if I were in your shoes. However, there's a possibility that we purchase or lease? a top end model LM next year when we open our range - course; but - we'll monetize the thing and use it for fittings and or fee based individual use. From our perspective that's the only way they make sense. If even then.

  2. I really enjoy watching - teaching kids discovering golf and having fun with it. Being a guy that runs a First Tee chapter I get to see lots of boys... and girls just like Kirke. Unlike us adults they seem to enjoy it whether hitting a good or a bad shot. Their expectations aren't high so when they do connect and launch a good shot they're quite excited. And amazed. It can be done!

  3. I'll probably never go as it'd have to be a special trip just for that. But, if I did my interest would be in finding/seeing all the unusual items - things people come up with. Walking around looking at the normal Mfg. brand drivers, irons, putters, bags, carts, clothes etc all day would hold no interest to me. Zzzzzzzz These days most equipment is only a reshaping of the clay. Nothing all that innovative IMO.

  4. Ok, here are the shoes I played almost all of 2019 in. I started this year saying I could only play in "Golf Shoes". But I decided to try something else early on and they worked! Better than expected. My game didn't suffer one bit. In fact I played some of my best golf in these shoes. Now, I'll also say that these aren't for everyone. They're not water-proof and do not provide much in the way of lateral movement support. So if you play where you seem to find yourself on uneven - sloping ground you will probably not like these shoes. I play in a dry climate and the terrain is fairly flat. Comfort? Excellent. Cool in the summer? Yes. Damage to greens? None! Expensive? No.

my question is, how often do I or you or anyone ever have an 88 yard shot in an actual round of golf?

Include me in the anyone group. LOL

Once or twice a round usually. At that yardage (88) I usually go with my 56*. Sometimes my 60* depending on the pin placement. I carry a standard set of wedges. 48*, 52*, 56*, 60*. I use them all - all day long depending on the particular shot situation. Sometimes a full swing - sometimes half. Other times chips and pitches. Besides putter they're the most used clubs in my bag. Works for me.

  6. I suppose for the time being anyway - I don't wear "golf shoes" any longer. In 2019 I wore a pair of Sketchers athletic style walking shoes with a flat but gripping sole. Anyway... very comfortable and about $35-$40/pair from the local Sketchers Outlet store. After a few rounds I liked the comfort so much I bought another pair to keep in reserve. These types of shoes don't damage the green like soft-spikes. Unfortunately not enough players wear shoes of this style. Now, I will say that these shoes do not provide much lateral support. However, the courses I play in and around the area where I live are fairly flat. Our climate is pretty dry as well. The only time I've encountered an issue was with an awkward stance on steeply sloping areas in and around a green or a bunker. But if you play in the fairway like I do (uh huh 🏌️‍♂️) you'll have no problem.

  7. I've carried a small brass bristle brush on my bag for years. It's probably 2" square and cost only about $2 - $3 dollars I recall. I purchased several of them and throw them away ever 2 years or so after they get over used. Like meyer summer is a problem keeping a towel wet but there's always a water can or pond close by I can dip my towel in. The Grooveit is a little bulky for my tastes.

  8. I don't mean to be a horses ass or anything but...

As brief as the video is and starting just from your split-second address position; you look nothing like Hogan. I've always thought that if I were to only see Hogans address/setup position I'd recognize him in the dark.  You're not there yet but it's a worthy position to emulate. Keep working on it. Oh, and BTW... you might try wearing an Ivy or Hogan cap. 🏌️‍♂️
