  1. im excited to put in play i95CW R flex shafts when i build my new set of irons. going to play i95CW R straight in and use the "spinner" wedge shaft concept in my 54 and 58. that is going one flex up but double soft stepping. my current 54 and 58 that i will be playing along with my new iron set is already setup with this concept. i95CW S 8 iron shafts in those two wedges.

  2. Put a TR Red 5S into play today, no practice, just warmup and take it on the course. I'm coming from an Autoflex 505X, so keep that in mind when you consider my comments.

This thing is stout to me. Nothing about it feels loose whatsoever. It has minimal but a tight kick for me. Every time I tee'd off, when i hit a decent/good shot, it felt like I lost distance compared to the Autoflex, but went I walked up to my ball, it was just as far out as when I hit my Autoflex well.

Dispersion was better for me than I have had recently with the Autoflex. Seems like I had less curvature with TR Red than the Autoflex. And maybe it is in my head, but I felt like there was less negative gear effect with the TR Red. I hit one way off the toe and it was still a tight draw instead of some sort of big hook.

You could certainly say that. I would love to see this section become a quick hits, TLDR (too long didn't read) of what have you tested and what was it like section. Don't have time for a full review or anything, well just give the brief notes.

There is a Ventrus TR Blue for sale by me and it will likely be a tested shaft for me!

hah it was a joke based on my rapid buy and sell habits.

going to be testing a TR Red 5S tomorrow though

... I hear ya and I am still undecided on the i80's I put in my Forged Tecs. I already have i95's and at 69 I figured a slightly lighter shaft in the i80's (that Nelly Korda plays btw) was worth a shot. Not different enough then my i95's to really be a problem but the 95's are just a better weight that I am used to playing. Dropping from 105 to 80 is a bigger jump of course.

im trying to figure out what steelfiber shafts i want to play in my next set. either i95cw regular or fc90 cw in stiff.

... Well done. 🤗  Today. I hope you don't mind me saying that at your level, use more club and take the water out of play next round. Even if you are over the back of the green, which is doubtful as you would probably be on the back of the green or right in the rough, and take that round killing double or worse out of play. At my level of play, if I have any doubt about clearing a hazard I play it safe and take more club. I really hate it when I have a perfect yardage to a front pin just over the water because I know a normal shot will be all over it BUT a slight miss puts me in the water and it isn't worth the risk, so I take more club and choke down a little and play for the middle of the green. If I am long, I can chip in from the back fringe for a birdie but I can't chip in from the water. 🤪 Today was a really good shot so congrats, but don't make the mistake of playing the hole like your best shot. Play it like your worst shot.

Yeah, i know what you are saying and makes sense. I've been adjusting to increased distances recently with swing changes. I had been playing to my old distances and been generally landing on the back of the green consistently with anything that is a decent strike. On today's hole 9, it was a decent strike but i know it was still a little toe-y.

  7. Hole 9, my nemesis. I always find a way to hit it short and right and land in the water.

Was playing 150 today. Pulled 8 iron, which felt like not enough to be safe, but I have been hitting my irons farther recently, so seemed like the right play if I aimed for the left side of the green. Hit a small fade (not on purpose) that started towards the left side of the green. Landed and slowly trickled toward the hole to 5 feet.

I missed the birdie putt, but am always happy with a par on this hole (or a par on any hole).

(this is a stock pic of the hole, not from today)
