apprenti23
May want to change the title to spoiler as many are away at work. Love Spieth and would like for him to win, but they play four rounds, not one. The Master's is usually a roller coaster dog-fight and not usually a wire-to-wire coast job... We will see! Kenny B
So, Spieth follows up a 64 with a 66 at the Masters. Not bad for someone that people say has questionable length off the tee and is not flashy. I like his game... revkev
I've tried to think of who Spieth reminds me of and I've got it. Steve Stricker's short game coupled with Scott Hoch's iron play. If he developes Jack Nicklaus' toughness we will get to watch the second coming of Tom Watson. Very similar games except that Tom was longer relative to the field and wilder off the tee. If Spieth wins this one he will have about a seven year head start on Tom. I agree with who ever wrote it, Tiger looks like a rusty Tiger but he looks like Tiger at least, certainly he's ready to make a run at it. Obviously he's been busting his butt at home. There's a story on CBS sports line that cracked me up though, "Tiger in the hunt." I guess so, he's only down by a touchdown, extra point and a field goal. It's just a two possession game. While I am rooting for Spieth, it's not unreasonable for someone, including Tiger, to put up a 64 or 65 and have Spieth drop a 75 or 76 today. There are some very capable players lurking just waiting for blood in the water. I hope it doesn't happen, I would love to see Spieth hit around 20 or 21 under and dominate, but I can't rule out a final round collapse, especially at this tournament. revkev
If the course gives up a 64 it will give up a 66,67 and several 68's. Also if it gives up a 64 Spieth isn't shooting a 75 on it. It's preposterous to write a headline stating that someone 10 back is in the hunt at a major. That's exactly why any number of people don't like Tiger. (I would not be in that category but the press is taking avid golf fans and turning them into Tiger haters.) There is no chance for a six under to win this tournament unless there is a remarkable weather event. It's not just Spieth there are 3 other guys who are significantly ahead. Two of those guys have won majors already. Kor.A.Door
Realistically there were 4 people with any chance to win, 3 of which had a very, very small chance and needed to shoot a very low score,, and then hope the 4th, Jordan played poorly enough to allow them back into the tournament, as normal for Masters Sunday, neither happened, Jordan played very well. Faldo said on Friday night that if Jordan would shoot 70, 70 over the weekend he would easily win, that is exactly what he did, and that is exactly what happened, it's good for golf and well deserved for Jordan. RoverRick
Phil said they left the course set up on the weekend for people to go low. So that more people would or could be involved on Sunday. Birdies were there for the taking, and Jordan took advantage of them to keep his lead. Everyone else, either failed to take advantage or dug too deep a hole (see Rory) to be a real factor. I am a huge Spieth fan, and have been since he was in high school, so I am biased, but I thought it was a great Masters. Kor.A.Door
I agree it was a good masters, if he course was set up so easy them why were there only 4 players that had realistic chances to win going in to Sunday, everyone is saying the he won because it was so easy, they all played the same course if I recall, yet by the start of the back nine on Sunday only 3 people were contending, and 1 of those had a 5 shot lead. Set up easy is Bologna, he played so much better than everyone else, that's all Lefties are always in their Right Mind

Kor.A.Door
I would rather see more penalty for missing a fairway than I would like see faster greens, you should be rewarded for hitting quality shots, I don't like watching a guy hit a spectacular shot that gets about 2 feet from the hole and then rolls back down a ridiculous slope and leaves him 30 feet away, or having a 4 foot putt, hitting it like a tap in, and then have it roll off the green and into the water, I agree to make it more difficult to play, let's just keep it playable 14 under, 18 under is a bit much for that tourney, but there are other ways to make that course more difficult than speeding up the greens Lefties are always in their Right Mind
