I am as well down for a Great Lakes get together. It will be a haul for me wherever we go, and I vote no for playing in Ohio... ask Jim Harbaugh why.

Conversation in our Local DMV thread may be think of Ocean City as a great location for a Mid-Atlantic region get together, so many courses over there that would be worth the 2 to 3 hour drive for many, make it during the summer, and the wife and kids can do the beach while we golf.   Of course lodging rates are sky high around that time.

That could be fun!

 

Another spot you could scout out - my wife and I went for a few days last Summer - is Shawnee. It's just inside the eastern PA border off I-80.

 

Three 9-hole courses, plus a separate Par 3 and short game lesson area, and .. there's an excellent craft brew pub there!

Years ago, some buds and I had an annual outing at a facility in New Market called the Shenvalee.   It wasn't very fancy, but it had 3 nine hole courses, comfortable rooms, a nice bar and restaurant and perhaps, importantly, reasonably priced.  Because we had a group of at least 20 guys, they provide us a hospitality room where we could gather drink some brews and play cards.

That's the way to do it, someone starting a thread specific to their area, and getting others who are joining the site to see it, and next thing you know, you've got yourself a local outing!!

After reading a few threads, I could forgo the golf & just set around a fire in lawn chairs with ya'll shooting the breeze & have a hilarious blast.
