silver & black
I've played on a sim twice. It was fun to do on a 15* January day in Ohio. I didn't care for it a lot, but at least you're swinging a club. They have their place, but I'll take real golf any day!
Shankster
For sure, I'd probably go nuts if I didn't have the sim at the college. I'd even consider doing a league on one. Just being able to take full swings in January is like a bowl of lucky charms. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

JAGolfore
I'll put my 2 cents in here and say golf outside is better than any "golf" game inside. mrsmith123
I've tried a simulator once and that was enough. I found that if I can't see real ball flight it just isn't the same. Something about the break in between shots via walking or riding in a cart. Plus I like the downtime during the winter. Jiro
I just read an article that a certain company thinks virtual golf will be more prevalent than real golf. - Alan I read a similar article saying that in Korea, this is the preferred method of golf among the 20 somethings. One of the primary reasons stated was the time savings. If it gets the young folks playing I am all for it (I feel the same way about top golf which is golf's version of a bowling alley) but like most everyone else here, part of the appeal is getting outside and experiencing the course and nature. dang3rtown
Well, I have never even seen a simulator let alone played one so I'm curious as to what it's like. How do you putt for instance? If there's an obstacle in the way do you rotate the screen? Is the lie always exactly the same? It seems fun in the sense that video games are fun but I don't know if I wold consider that golf. I do go to top golf everyone and then and yes, Top Golf is awesome! It's also not golf but it's golf like and my wife and kid can come and hang out. Socal805
I practice sometimes at an indoor range with GC2 monitors. It's a good place to practice, but I can tell you that the monitors are not an accurate representation of the actual ball flight. I'm sure they are close, but at an outdoor range the balls fly much differently. I'm sticking with real outdoor golf. That cannot be replaced in my opinion.
