Kenny B
I talked to Dawg this morning and he said, “Yep, I'll be up to Lane Creek before you can say don't!â€. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk I have been doing great, next appointment is the 24th and I am hoping to at least begin to chip and putt. They have already told me I can go to the Southern Company tournament in July so I am excited to know I will be playing by then for sure. I am still in a back brace and I know I will be wearing it at least until June. This past Tuesday I think I pulled something in my lower back getting in my truck, the pain was pretty bad when I would bend certain ways but it is almost gone now. I have been driving for about a month and I think I got a little sassy getting in and instead of doing it the way they showed me I hopped up and pulled myself in. I won't do that again! DawgDaddy
Hey guys, a quick update. I go to see the doctor this coming Tuesday, he has been letting me chip and putt since the last visit 2 months ago. 2 Wednesdays ago I could stand it no longer and started hitting 3/4 shots with everything except woods and have been out twice. I am playing fairly well considering a 6 month lay off. Of course I don't keep any kind of personal score as it really amounts to practice for when the doctor releases me to play golf next Tuesday (I hope). I have had no back pain from having played other than sore muscles and just being weak from still not being allowed to begin any physical therapy. I'll check back in next week with a report. Thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes everyone. DawgDaddy
So I visited the doctor yesterday for my follow up, the doctor visit went ok but not great. The good thing is that he is pleased with my healing process and released me to play golf with a full swing (I'll be up to see you soon ole gray). I can also drive until I feel the need to get out and walk a bit versus driving an hour and getting out to walk for 10 minutes. The bad is I must wear the back brace for 3 more months, still not to lift anything over 30 lbs, I am to cut my walking back to 1 mile twice daily instead of 2 miles at once, still must take OsCal and vitamin D3, still wear the Biomet unit (a bone growth stimulator unit that looks like a tens unit) and sleep in it. Much more good than bad from this so I am very happy, the back brace is actually not as much a hindrance to the golf swing as you would think.
