You think maybe now you can mention the "other" shaft brand without catching holy hell?  Or is there a private messaging function in MGS?

It's the Steadfast Jupiter 1+.  https://jupiter1plus.com/products/steadfast-jupiter-one-plus-driver-shaft I like them but some folks have had some bad experiences with them customer service wise. I have 4, one in my 3 wood.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

Got a practice round this afternoon. I don't remember a time where I am as excited to hit the driver as I am feeling right now. Is that weird?

FWIW:  Newton shafts is  connected "at the hip" with Sacks Parente putter co.  Their website does not mention which , Sacks or Parente, but the Team of advisors are the same.  Small but a lot of experience.  Good to see new entries competing against the big names.

Drv: PXG 0211, Evnflo Riptide CB Senior, Callaway 454 TI (2004) 10 and an 11, regular flex.

3W: Callaway Steelhead Xr  Tensei Blue CK 55 gram senior. TM Burner Superfast 3.0 M flex.

5W : Titleist TSi 1 on Aldila Ascent 40 regular flex.

Driving Iron: Mizuno MP 18 MMC 3 18 degree, on Mamiya Recoil reg flex.

4 iron:  forged Mizuno Fly-Hi, 24 degree hollow body.

6 - PW: Ping I 500, on Recoil reg flex.

Gap: 52/9 GFF Mizuno S5, Lob: 60/6 GFF Mizuno T7.

Sand: Ancien Regime 56/12 Hogan Sure Out, Apex shaft. Heavy sole.

Chipper:  Ancien Regime Don Martin "Up n In" bronze or copper. 🙂

Putter: Odyssey Stroke Lab "R" Ball, face balanced, 2 piece, multi material shaft.🙃

Eris, since you are a shaft xprmntr, have you tried putter with new multi matrl, graphite, etc. shafts?

My demo 2&3 dot went back today after a week of extensive testing on the range and course. While Newton can be an excellent shaft for lots of folks out there, as hard as I tried I couldn’t make it outperform my Speeder.

Newton shaft performed well in the cold. Was long, some left shots but that’s because I was cold. This shaft, when fitted to me, outstanding!IMG_4469.jpeg.f4ffa3ad00114ffa9b90f345a69d5b8d.jpegIMG_4468.jpeg.d111713a2faae38f4f69bad092bd51a8.jpeg

Nice glad it is working for you! I may put the shaft in my 8 degree Callaway Paradym TD from last year. My AI Smoke TD is a 9 degree, so maybe the 8 degree will fit this shaft better……However, I will experiment

My Paradym TD is set at 9* Neutral. I really think tipping it was the key to lower ball flight. And cutting it to 45” total driver length made it so I can hit the sweet spot consistently. I was playing with my daughter’s roomie today and told him that in the last two years I’ve gone from 46 1/2” to 45”. He’s hitting the longer shafts, only 19 years young hockey player and I out drove him several times. Then I let him hit my setup. He was 10 yards longer than his and my shots. First time hitting it. And he didn’t have his baby fade. He’s a good kid so I might help him out. Love helping good kids succeed.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

The Newton 4-Dot shaft is an absolutely fantastic match for me in the new Paradym AI Smoke Triple Diamond driver head that I just got last week! I played yesterday in cool temperatures with strong winds and rain on our last three holes, and got fantastic results, hitting 11 of 13 fairways where I hit the driver (with no warning up because the course has no range).  My two missed fairways were still very playable drives — first one was a short (288 yd) par 4 directly into the wind, where I was just trying to leave myself within a short partial wedge shot of the green, but I drove the ball pin-high and just left of the green. From there, I chipped to within 2’ for an easy tap-in birdie. My second missed fairway was on hole #17, a medium-length par 5 hole with a fairway that slopes right-to-left, more severely the longer you drive the ball. My tee shot on this hole hit in the left-center of the fairway, and rolled about 20-25’ into the left rough.

Not only were my drives very predictable with this shaft/head combination, they were also quite long, even those drives that I hit into the 15-25 MPH winds. I AVERAGED 225+ yards into the wind, with a longest drive of about 245. Downwind, I was consistently hitting my drives 275 yards (or more). The biggest surprise was on that short par 4 where I drove the ball pin-high!

DR - Callaway Paradym AI Smoke TD, Newton Motion 4-Dot

4W - Callaway Paradym 3HL, Newton Motion Fairway shaft, 4-Dot

HYB - Paradym X 18*, HZRDUS Smoke Red 80S; Sub 70 949X 21*, same shaft

7W (if played) - Sub 70 849, ProForce Black 80-S

Irons - Callaway Paradym, HZRDUS Silver Gen 4, S-flex

Wedges - Edison 2.0, 53* and 57* (bent to 58*), KBS TGI 100

Putter - (currently in flux, but usually an Evnroll 8V

Ball - Maxfli Tour-X CG (2023)

Bags - Ghost Golf Maverick Black Ops

Cart - MotoCaddy M7 Remote (without the remote)

Spoiler

driver / off the tee is no longer a weakness for me!

Spectacular @funkyjudge!!! I had very good results from my 5 dot as well yesterday. The only issue is I need to change the grip to midsized. The fitter put a standard sized on by accident. @Josh Parker agree on the woods shafts. I’d love one for my 3 wood. I’m hitting it ok with the steadfast, but when I miss it’s a left hook. Had two of those shots yesterday but recovered with pars so I was lucky. This is one of those shots where my 3 wood went left.

Recovered with a 2 putt par, I should have birdied it because I was 10 feet out with a straight putt. The birdie attempt stopped within an inch from the hole🫢😬😠

I did some head to head testing with an Autoflex Dream 7. Have to admit that the dream did outperform the Newton, but it is in a sight class I prefer.

I think if Newton ever lowers the weight of the 4 or 5 dot options they would be much more in line with what by swing prefers.

I’m bombing the 5 dot. Tipping and 45” total driver length was key. I like it more each day!

No, still in love with my 30 year old Ping Anser.

did you see how many TOUR guys are now putting cross handed?  Im pretty sure today's winner Jaeger, and a bunch others.  More and more every week it seems to me.  I went cross back in 2016 and like it.  No, no stats, I don't stay healthy long enough to play well weekly.

Jaeger doesn’t putt crosshanded; he is conventional.   I’d also say the newer trend is more claw/pencil.

Hi, Cnosil, I meant to ask you how are you?  Your health issue sounded scary.  My toe is coming along very nicely.   One more week in the boot.   I can't wait to spend all my time out there, and none on this keyboard!

I am doing okay.   Today is the first day that I can do full activity and hope to hit some golf balls tomorrow.  We will see how it goes and if the surgery fixed my problem or I need to go down the doctor rabbit hole again.

Glad the toe is doing better and that you can get back out soon.

An update: The  fitter is changing the grip to midsize. Will play on Wednesday! Hopefully get some more bombs.

Ok, I put the Newton 5 dot shaft in play today. I put it into my Callaway Paradym TD 8 degree head. Set it to neutral and hit 5 balls on the range. Then off to play. It was 78 degrees today with winds at 15 to 25 mph. However, this shaft head combo was awesome! I hit 6 drives over 330. Two into the wind. The ball just jumped off the club. It did fly relatively high, but it was very penetrating. A couple drives I purposely teed it low and it came off like an airplane climbing at take off. This is a great shaft. I may switch it over to the Callaway AI Smoke TD at 9 degrees to see if I get the same results. However, I think it is best served in the 8 degree setting which I could switch the other head down a degree. Just a nice feeling shaft and you can really go after it without fear. I was also able to work the ball, but the main ball flight was pretty straight.

Play like a champion today!

Sweet! I wanna hear how it does in the AI. If I recall correctly @funkyjudge did put it in the AI. I don’t recall his results though.

Yes the funny thing I am not sure I want to change anything after today! But if it goes even farther in the AI that will be scary!!
