I have used an Alphard unit with a CaddyTek push cart since last June and really enjoy it.  I personally prefer to use the remote control instead of the follow capabilities.  You can check it out at alphardgolf.com.

I also have an Alphard with the CaddyTec V8. I love mine. I also prefer the remote control.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

I currently have the Stewart Q Follow and would not recommend it. I've used  a few different ones now and would say The Motocaddy M7 is probably the best followed closely by MGI Zip Navigator.

I'm super curious about the Stride Zero Friction--we should see soon...

Here’s mine. It’s the Alphard V2 with a CaddyTek V8 swivel front wheel. Highly recommended! Been going for three years now.

My daughter wants to take it from me!

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

I've used the Alphard club booster v2 for about 2 years now. I love that I can pick whichever cart I want and it will work with it.  Im using a Clicgear and my husband is using a Bagboy quad. I have no complaints except that I bought the articulating front wheels for my Clicgear and it makes it much larger when folded up.

It's the equipment,not the player....totally convinced.

After a bit of a layoff taking care of a sick family member, recently joined at a local club that's quite hilly so electric push cart would be a game changer. Seems the consensus is remote is great, but must have would be a gyro if so? Anyone have experience on particularly hilly courses and if that changes which are the best options in terms of stability and steep climbs/downhills/sidehills?

The Stewart Active Terraine Control is what sold me on the Vertx.  Having used it for 2 rounds - I am impressed with how it deals with hills.  The down hill control is particularly impressive.

Personally, I would recommend buying a great cart (like the Clicgear 3.5 or Bagboy Quad) and add the Alphard V2 booster wheels.  In the long run you will find more parts and accessories available for those carts and you can place every single part on the V2, if its ever needed, so it would be a setup that lasts a long time.   I love mine.  I've been using the Alphard V2 for 2 or 3 years now (and many miles) and its still running great.  Highly recommend!

Am I correct that the electric carts have a certain battery life after which you have to buy a new battery or a new cart?

In today's technology driven world, I would assume that there has been an advancement in the "follow" technology for these carts.  I have seen that there are a few models that have a "tether" kind of follow apparatus.  Unacceptable to me.  I would imagine a follow "fob" or remote that you could one-button turn off while you're on the greens or when you're at your ball.  Anybody heard of such offered today?  Or any other non-tether follow options that you like?

Nice touch!

... Owners of follow carts may feel differently but I just can't imagine a follow mode on anything other than a very flat course without narrow walkways, bridges, etc. My home course has lots of tricky passages between greens and tees as well as pretty big elevation changes. One of the things I love most about a remote cart with a gyroscope is coming up in a front bunker and playing a shot to a back pin and leaving the cart there while others chip and putt because moving it can be a visual distraction for others playing a shot. Then when done playing the hole I just guide it around the green and catch up to it on the other side.

I am a huge fan of their V2 if you have a cart you already like.

The wife and I just bought each other our anniversary gifts. they are supposed to ship out late July. Our anniversary is Nov and I am not sure I'll be swinging clubs until December or January.

I have the Alphard V2 and the motocaddy D1. I think they’re both affordable and reliable. I like the motocaddy more. It’s a single unit and more compact. You can read about it. I have the review in my signature.
