So, I just tried to record a 5-second video clip with my iPhone (13 Pro, if that matters), with settings from 4k 24 (my standard) down to HD 30, and all of them came in over the 5mb limit.  

  So, I found this site here:  https://invideo.io/tools/compress/video-compressor/  -  just upload your file to that, select the "medium" compression, and my 4k file went from 12mb to 2.5mb in about 3 minutes, total.

It's easy, it's free, and you don't have to sign up for anything (always an added bonus).

My question - what’s next (from a putter design perspective)? Another iteration of the Link? Or is a more rounded version of the Mezz? Curious how long it takes to design a new putter head from concept to final design.

1.  With the forward press grips what is the average loft of the lab putter at impact 

2.  If he can share, how does L.A.B. go about the process of balancing their putters.  I.e  What’s involved in the balancing of L.A.B. Putters

3.  If you need or want to switch or replace a grip, can it be done at a local pro golf shop or does it have to be taken to an authorized dealer to ensure balance is correct?

To be brutally honest, I would never ever never (and my mother told me to never say never ) order one without being able to test it first. (Sorry, Sam)

The website seems completely devoid* of guidance on model selection. 

*Except - "automatic", "semi-automatic"...

This question perfectly dovetails into the first - for Player A once you've detected THEIR best head shape .. then, what is THEIR best grip choice based on their particular setup, hand placement, stroke, whatever....

According to some interview I happened across last week while sick and in bed, yes. I normally don’t watch that stuff, but after 4 days, I ran out of golf and other stuff to watch. It was about some music video. 

I guess someone can have a LINK, MEZZ, and DF, and it would be a lot  cheaper than 2 supermodels in the long run.

Now that there are more and more L.A.B. putters out on tour, how much do those guys have input into the future designs? 

 

Also, L.A.B. has become known for the unique headshapes obviously. Does that in itself become part of the brand? Would future models be designed along the same idea to make them more instantly recognizable as a L.A.B.?

I wanted to check the status of my DF3 order and found it not showing in my order history, emailed them and was told they had a server switchover or something like that and a few things did not transfer smoothly, but a day later my order was showing, so maybe your video got caught up in that turmoil.

As someone who is on the fence of a broom, explain why or why not you could salvage a standard length putter out of a broom by shortening the shaft if you really couldn't get into it.  I feel like the answer to everything is everything is custom weighted to a particular setup and is not adjustable for some reasoning that is not entirely clear to me.

This is personally holding up me buying one because I can't figure out if I can truly commit to the #broomlife and dropping $600 on a putter that I can't cut down if I can't is truly a scary proposition.

what are the options for adjustment when acquiring a pre-owned LAB putter? For example, can the lie angle be adjusted by a fitter or is this something that LAB can do if you send the putter to them?

Can you ask Sam about whether they've done any testing with putter color (particularly red/blue/green) and putting accuracy? And then the same question but for alignment marking and eye dominance?

I feel like their tech is tailor made to do some pretty strong A/B testing to see what putters work best for different folks. There is a lot of evidence for red putters providing better alignment contrast on greens, but there was an interesting study showing that blue might be better for fine motor control tasks, while red is best for "strength" tasks.

I'm currently using a Ping Doc 15.5 L and for longer putts I go sidesaddle (sometimes all the time) while looking at the hole. I try to focus on a good tempo and feel like I'm just rolling the ball to the hole with my right hand like bowling or bocce ball. Keep at it good luck.

As I understand their tech, and I've bought 2 Mexx Max's and a DF3 from them, so I've read their stuff thoroughly ... cutting the shaft down would throw off the balancing they do at build time, and also brooms have a more upright lie angle than standard style putters, which is accounted for in the machining of the head, so to adjust it would require bending the shaft, possibly damaging it. Their balancing process takes into account the length and weight of the shaft as well as the weight of the grip ordered, plus the lie angle, so if any 1 of these variables changes, the harmonious interaction of them is negatively affected.

First, I've never seen any Lab putter out in the wild. I did see a video of a guy picking his ball making it look easy..... it is not easy. I'll keep working on it, in private.

I've found that you need to keep the putter head perfectly flat, otherwise the ball just roll off the side. So it can be used as a ball picker, but it's not the easiest.

Gonna try my new DF3 today with the rear hole perfectly sized to grab a ball if within gimme range.  If I sink the putt, I have a folding grabber screwed to the butt of the grip to save my back that way too.  Now if I could figure out how to remotely plant a tee in the ground, tee the ball, then pick up the tee without bending over ... ?!?!?!?!? Might have to trek down to the PGA Merch Show to find such a gadget ?!
