My MEVO Experience

TLDR: the MEVO was fantastic for me, my first time using a launch monitor.

Got out to the range today for just under an hour and finally got to use the MEVO for the first time (and my first time using a launch monitor overall)!  I got it for a good price used, so was a little scared about the battery life, but this was not an issue at all…the indicators still showed between 70-100% charge when I was done.

It was not a great ball striking day for me…was just very inconsistent throughout the session.

Had everything already setup through the app, so it was ready to go when I got there.  Hit a couple warmup shots before turning on the MEVO.  Powered it on, set it 2 long paces back from the tee of the mat, took a swing with my GW, and sure thing it immediately displayed the data from the shot!  Next swing, same thing…super easy to setup!

Worked my way through the bag from GW to Driver hitting 3 shots with each, then switching clubs.  The app was super convenient to make the club switch, it was operator error and forgetting to do so on a couple (new launch monitor user!).

Need some more run time with it, but some of the distances were a little interesting…multiple 7 irons at 170 yards!  That is definitely not my 7 iron.

I used the dashboard mode during the session to quickly see the stats from each shot…here is a 4 iron:

The data summary provides a very nice overview allowing you to switch between individual club details or a high level summary.  I noticed a decent yardage gap between my 9 iron and PW…will have to see if that continues, but the rest were pretty good.

I’m not sure why the 3 hybrid is displayed after the 9 iron and haven’t found a way to fix it at this point…open to any thoughts/input on this!

Overall, very happy with the initial use.  Looking forward to continuing to use the MEVO!  Hoping to get out in a couple weeks for another practice session.

Got out to the range today and hit a large bucket of balls…prepping for a 4 man scramble on Friday and deciding between a 4 iron or 4 hybrid.

Was getting to a point of more feel and less technical in the swing and was doing much better…hoping this controls to the round on Friday.

4 iron didn’t last long…not good at all.  Had struggled with the 4 hybrid before (big pushes), but cut it down a bit and a new grip and was loving it today.  Will be putting it in the bag going forward.

Captured data on the Mevo for the session, seems to be picking up shots by the guy next to me as well (removed those shots from the log).

Was hitting the ball decent and mostly consistent with flight on irons.  Was smoking the 3 wood, driver needs some work…
