NM01
Several dtc use some level of blanks so you are getting a good design with some tweak made by the brand. Then you have other drc brands that are doing their own r&d and using their own molds. Only bad club is the one that doesn’t fit you IndyBonzo, Michael.Sandoval33, Dweed and 1 other 4 Quote Link to comment

Shrek74
Sub70 is always one of the, if not the best choice from the DTC group. They design and test their own stuff, and it's of the highest quality.Their customer support is the best in the business. Period. The 699 Pro is the PD iron in their lineup.Maltby TS1 IM is another great option, especially if you want to build them yourself. But they can build them for you, to your specs as well. Usually, at no additional cost. I'll be building these myself once I finish building my golf work bench.Sent from my SM-N986U1 using Tapatalk Michael.Sandoval33, bama no 1, IndyBonzo and 2 others 4 1 Quote Driver: STMax 230 10.5*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX, 60g Fairways: 949x 3w / 5w, 15* / 18*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 70g Hybrids: 939x 4h, 21*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 80g Hybrid Irons: JPX923 Hot Metal Pro, 5-GW, UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Wedges: S23, 54* & 60*, UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Putter: Moment X Tour @ 35" & 71*, Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0, White/Red Ball: Tour CG Technology: Anarch Rangefinder, V5 w/ Tags Shot Tracking. https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/65161-vortex-optics-rangefinders-2024-member-test/?do=findComment&comment=1089247 https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/66852-unofficial-review-tpi-virtual-assessment https://forum.mygolfspy.com/classifieds/ - DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE CLASSIFIEDS!!! I’ve played clubs in the past from Taylormade, Cobra, Cleveland, Adams, Tour Edge, Wilson and Calloway. You’ll need an appointment if you want to try out irons which you can make online. It’s a great spot they have and their fitters are very good and the fitting is free. DRLEONARD58
I did a demo of the Sub70 Pro v2's last summer and they were pretty outstanding! Basically, you pay $120 (US) for a 6 iron and a 9 iron. You keep them for a couple of weeks (if you need more time, just email them and let them know), then send them back and you get refunded $100 -- net cost of $20 -- to actually hit the clubs that you might purchase. Sub70 also has a pretty great return policy which is a nice security blanket when purchasing clubs over the internet. The only reason that I didn't purchase the clubs was due to me getting a great deal on the Srixon ZX5 Mk II's that I am currently gaming. I also strongly considered the Takomo 101T's when looking at irons sets. Here is the link to the demo page for Sub70 (they allow you to demo more than just irons, if interested): https://www.golfsub70.com/sub-70-golf-demo-clubs.html bama no 1 1 Quote WITB: Takomo IGNIS Driver 10.5* (1* strong) with HZRDUS Smoke Black 60g 5.5 shaft Takomo IGNIS 5 Wood with HZRDUS Smoke Black 60g 5.5 shaft Ping G430 22* Hybrid with HZRDUS Smoke Red 80g 6.0 shaft Srixon ZX5 Mk II 5-PW with KBS Tour Light R shafts Edison 2.0 Wedges 51° 55° 59° with KBS Tour 110 R shafts L.A.B. Shaned888RTR
I have the older set of Sub 70 699 pro irons. I also bought a set for my 10 year old son. We love them and cannot speak more highly of them. The company is fantastic to deal with and will answer any questions you have on the website. They are so easy to hit I almost wish I would have been brave enough to go with the CB models. bama no 1 and ChrisGE 2 Quote Shane Link to comment
Scott M
I too have a set of the original Sub70 699s and they feel softer than my Ping i525s. I feel I'm more accurate with my i525s but with an in-house fitting at Sub70, I'm sure I can get similar performance out of the 699s. The value with sub70 is not only the price but the customizations you can do. They have every club shape/model you could need and tons of shaft and grip options, not to mention you can customize length, loft, and lie. Sub70 also keeps popping up on MyGolfSpy's Most Wanted lists. Customer service is top-notch. Sub70 is tough to ignore. bama no 1
I have checked out several Dtc companies. I will start going down the list as I research the clubs. My plan is to demo the clubs from the companies that offer that program like sub 70, Ben Hogan. Unfortunately, if a company doesnt offer a demo program I will cross them off my list. I have already demo'ed the Ben Hogan Icon irons and they are very good. bama no 1, Shrek74 and ChrisGE 3 Quote WITB Cobra Radspeed 10.5 driver Cobra 3 wood Nickent hybrid PXG 0311 3-PW Cleveland zip core wedges 52,56,60 Odyssey/Goodwood putters-models works 7 for odyssey and Goodwood custom putters switch out from time to time. Striker
I would look a the Mizuno's you. The 243 or 245's are nice. you could also look at the 923 Hot Metal pro's. I buddy of mine who is a 4 played those for a while then went back to the Mizuno Forged and now is use the Cobra Dark speed irons. He hits his 7 Iron about 170 with the forged and he is 195 with the Cobra Dark speed and 190 with the 923 Hot Metal Pro's. bama no 1 1 Quote Link to comment
