Dear Cleveland/Srixon

Why are these not readily available? I did some searches and you can find Cleveland irons, but not Srixon irons...

That's some sweet iron porn right there!

Not a bad looking set, nor price for JDM irons.  Its amazing to me the difference in brand popularity between Asian and American markets.

Nice looking set. I wonder how they compare to a 588MB/CB combo set?

The Cleveland forged irons were on my radar last year when the XL Custom driver knocked my socks off.

I still want to circle back to those in 2014 if I can. I had a set of 701 Tour Srixons a few years ago and they were OK. I wasn't really al that impressed with them, but they were an "American" design.

I had the chance to try out the cavity back version of those (what you see in the 4 iron) a while ago when I was trying out a bunch of things at a store. They feel pretty nice, not extremely soft (compared to an MP-64), but pretty crisp. I'd say that it's close to the Nike pro combo split cavity model.

In the bag as of now...

I've never bought anything - even balls from Srixon - but I gotta say, those are some very good looking sticks. I agree they should be offering those in the US. If they perform as good as they look, they'd sell.

  • 4 weeks later...

Did anyone see the pics of GMac testing out the Z745 irons at the Heritage this week? I would post pictures but they are all watermarked for other sites.

My golfing buddy just took a job with Cleveland and he said Srixon will be selling irons in the next few months here in the states. Globally, Srixon is a top 3 ball company with a growing market in the club business.

They look clean and hopefully have a bit more forgiveness than their old irons. I had a set and they were money when you hit them on the screws. Catch it on the toe and it was harsh with a ton of lost distance.

I've heard this too.  Supposedly, except for the wedges, the Cleveland brand will disappear and all will be Srixon.  The Cleveland Tour stable is in the process of switching over, should be done by the Players.

Nonchalant putts count the same as chalant putts.

While their tour staffers may be switching, not the info I have heard from a very reliable source. Wish I could say more, but can't right now. But the CG name should live on. None of their staffers appear bound contractually to newest models anyway and have often played older models or Srixon gear.
