KB McCool
I recently sold a Cobra Bio Cell 3/4 Wood to some guy in VT on ebay for only $30 and of course shipping was $14.99....................... Keep in mind I had all the photos from a to z on ebay.. I sell with NO RETURNS accepted...... This guy gets my wood with head cover/wrench and he decides the face it too scratched and he doesn't want it so he complains to Ebay.......... they freeze my money and say that I MUST take this back.. What does this guy expect for a club with ALL the photos that is 3+ yrs old? So now I can't touch the money and must pay for this idiot to ship it back plus refund his money.. I would say that on Ebay the seller is the sucker.. I don't know how people get by selling on Ebay and keep any money.. Ebay is one big joke as I was above and beyond the call of honesty and I get screwed by this guy and Ebay.. Don't trust dealing with Ebay as a seller you are at risk! McaseyM
Sorry to hear you got screwed. yeah, they just changed their policy on returns recently and went super buyer friendly. KB McCool
I had already left a favorable response for this guy...... I feel he changed his mind after the sale and this is his easy cheap way of getting all his money back...hell, even PayPal kept their fees.. I have sold a lot of clubs on ebay in the past but this is the last time I use those greedy bastards ever.. How cheap can someone get over $30 ??? thanks for your comments
PlaidJacket
Sorry to hear about it. Never tried ebay for anything. Buying or selling. I think you'd have better luck selling something here in the Classified section. After you've been here a while you'll get to know a bunch of guys you can trust. It cuts both ways. EthanSterlingPrice
Closest to online selling I've ever done is Craigslist and here. I'm not a fan of credit cards in any way. So I try to avoid things where they're required. This is just another confirmation for me. Sure there are a bunch of times where you get a good deal and things pan out well but there's plenty of issues like this too. Very sorry to hear about that KB. JudgeSmails
I've been on Ebay for 15+ years.....theses changes have been around for a while, as the seller, you can do nothing right and they WILL NOT EVER make a decision in your favor. The buyer is ALWAYS correct and will always get their money back. I am lucky to have not been personally screwed over yet, and very rarely sell anything on their anymore, but have friends who have been screwed. In the old days, you worried about dishonest sellers, now you worry about dishonest buyers. I guess I didn't do my homework and realize that there was a classified section here.. will use that from now on. Good by ebay.. forever.. Besides, the classified section obviously doesn't have as many potential buyers as eBay, so that's a trade off. Did the buyer have any negative reviews? Sorry for the loss. KB McCool
To update everyone.. I said to the buyer.. rather than me taking it back and having to pay the $15 for shipping plus give him his money back I would send him $5 via paypal .........of course he took the offer............so now it comes down to selling the wood for $25 and then having ebay take their share and paypal take their share.. and now I still have to wait to get my money unfrozen... again after selling motorcycles, golf clubs, some cameras etc on ebay for the last 14 years... I AM DONE WITH EBAY... and will never sell on their venue again..
~^~
I sold a guy in LA a brand new set of RocketBladez. Sent it US Mail, receipt requested. Guy claimed he never got them. Mailman said the guy gets a lot of boxes delivered, and he just forgot to get his signature. Guy and i filed a dispute. eBay sided with him, I lost $700. The USPS Postal General Inspector contacted me several times, was sympathetic, but nothing he could do. Lesson learned. Painful.

~^~
Wait so there was nothing Usps could do? They didn't get the guys signature. That's on them. Clearly. It was a USPS fail. The IG interviewed the carrier. He admitted he was a golfer, but denied taking the clubs. The IG said they have crooks in CA who follow mail trucks and grab packages left on doorsteps. I was also at fault, because I was too cheap to buy insurance. But I screwed up: I trusted 'em! No way was the USPS going to pay me back. Despite the fact I had proof the USPS were the last person who had the clubs. Like I said, lesson learned. All this took place over the span of a couple months. Lots of anger and sleepless nights. I personally believe the guy got the clubs without signing, then just rode out the controversy, knowing eBay would side with him. The guy also originally refused to pay once he won the auction, but after a week or so, used his wife's or mothers credit card.
