Pretty stoked how this week worked out after losing both Cook and Kelce. I’m thrilled to have the lead I have, but terrified of Kamara and Parker. Looks like it’s going to be another late night, last game sweat.

It’s already like that. For those that don’t know how or forget, I usually do a sweep before the draft order gets set so everyone’s names look right when Ryan does his randomizer.

Not to be outdone, let's not forget that the Circus league playoffs start this week as well:
Now the format is quite goofy with SIX BYES plus it carries on past the end of the regular season. That's my bad as I should've done a custom bracket for Circus as well...but here we are. The Circus winner will be the team with the best score in Week 18. Good luck!

WEEK 15 WAS A MARATHON. What an exciting way to finish too; seems like many of the matchups came down to the waning seconds of the game. At least the games last night were somewhat competitive unlike many of the other games this week.

lol. Felt like the slowest accumulation of points ever. Constant runs for like 2 yards on both sides. Leader in the clubhouse for now….
Can’t wait for Kupp catch 10 balls in the first half and crush my spirits. Luckily, I won’t have to actually watch the game and feel the anxiety since the Fighting Footballs are going to be the game broadcast here.

Put this in the Slack space but I’ll post it here too:
No one will be able to put in waiver claims next week since no one has matchups set yet; we’re non-playoff teams in Fantrax’s eyes. The Tuesday game finishing out our week means matchups will be set Wednesday; no waivers run. Will force all players back to waivers, then set matchups, and only go with waivers on Thursday. If that makes sense.
Also, we’re not going to make any special additional accommodations with all these COVID pops and games moving around. Pay attention to the updates, prepare for contingencies, manage your benches, and use that IR slot. It’s the playoffs after all, earn it.

Copies will depend on total players. If we have a similar total, it’ll stay at 5 most likely.
Draft will be 8 rounds + waivers for the final 2 spots.

We're making a unilateral change on this. The idea of Best Ball is more popular but it just doesn't show up properly in live scoring so no one ever has a clue where they stand without using workarounds. Because it degraded the quality of the league, we're going back to Start/Sit. 5 starters, 5 bench.

Yes, yes, it's time! Time for the 2022 MGS Fantasy Golf League. Tiger is back, Fantasy Golf is back. This thread will be the home for all discussions for this year's madness.
I've attached a poll to this thread. You MUST enter a response to the poll to be considered for this season. If you're new, send the commissioners a PM with your email address so we can get an invite your way.
Here's some quick hits on the format:
- Platform: Fantrax
- Entry Fee: Free
- Commissioners: Yours Truly, @Berg Ryman@Undershooter
- Draft: Tentatively January 19, 8pm EST
- Scoring: Points for birdies, pars; lose points for bogeys...and so on
- Rosters: Start 5 players each week; 5 bench*
- H2H Matchups: All play each week within division..divisions and draft order will be auto-generated*
- Scheduling: First event is the Farmers, playoffs run during the PGA Playoffs

Playoffs: Top 20 in each division make it*
- Aggregate point totals starting with week 1 of the playoffs
- Bonus points awarded based on regular season finish
- Cuts after each round
- Prize: MGS Golden Ticket

Well that was a very exciting season and I'm sure the playoffs will crank it up a notch. Here's your updated playoff bracket:

As the old saying goes, Fantasy Football is the sport where people invest 300 hours a week for 6 months to earn their $10 buy-in back. Twitter is great for quick scoops on breaking news but very volatile overall on actual fantasy advice. Seems like most folks hedge every comment so they’re always right.
In addition to Sxm, I like the Fantasy Footballers. They have just about as good of advice as anywhere else but are very entertaining in their presentation…. YouTube and podcasts, I consume either depending on whether I’m in the car or at home. I also like that they have a good focus on the advanced stats to find edges where they may not be immediately apparent.

3 weeks left to the season. Who’s gonna make the playoffs??? Thanksgiving week is always a fun one in the fantasy football team.
No lead is safe in either division at this point so it’s gonna take some good decisions down the stretch.Speaking of decisions, we’ve got 2 days left to trade. Ends Thursday at midnight EST.
Reminder, top 16 in each division make the playoffs and top 4 in each get a first round bye. Earning a bye also guarantees you your entry fees back (at least).

We had a bit of a mishap with the schedule where week 14 was accidentally tagged as a playoff week, not regular season. So there were no matchups entered. Fantrax helped a little but I had to enter the matchups manually so I used a random spinner to get it all in there.
The only manual choices I made were when the spinner came up with a matchup that has already happened during the season and my default was to choose the next closest number that was available. No consideration was given to standing.
Reminder, top 16 in each division get in to the playoffs and top 4 in each get a bye.

This was mentioned in the early season discussions but I wanted to put this out there as definitive since I finally got around to putting together the bracket. Top 16 in each division will play in the playoffs..top 4 in each receive a first round bye. We'll be following this manual (outside of Fantrax) bracket:
And to the money aspect, here's what the final payouts will look like:
Total Money Collected: $580
Less Fantrax Fee: $580Fantrax waived fee for this season only. We kept the $10 entry because 1)we had already collected from a number of players 2)bigger payouts this year without the fee eating it up and 3)we'll have to pay next year anyway so may as well get used to it.

I think the answer here is obvious. As a Boston sports fan, you can totally identify with the underdog story right? Never favored, never holding advantages; either overt, underlying, or otherwise. Total back against the wall situations.
