Appreciate the response, but here's the additional quandary. When ever someone brings a guest/friend/relative to play with the group, they readily accept whatever hdcp that player states without any verification, because it's vouched for by the inviting member and they did not have a GHIN hdcp. So the rules are not really set in stone are they?

Sounds to me you play with a bunch of 'up tight' guys!

  2. I played a round of golf this past Sunday.  Where I played has 3, 9 hole courses.  I was disappointed to see that Shot Scopy only had 2 of the 3, in addition they had a 9 hole course that was closed down years ago.  On monday I sent a request to add the current 3rd, 9 hole course.  I received and email today, apologizing profusely and telling me that the current 3rd, 9 hole course will be up by tomorrow.  So far am not only impressed with the product, but now I am impressed with their customer service.  Hopefully this will continue in future.

  3. For myself I play Srixon Soft feel golf balls. I play them for several reasons.  First, with my age and slow swing speed, I find I do better with soft golf balls. Secondly, they are more cost effective for me.  Online I can get them between $15 and $25 a dozen.  Lastly I play them exclusively because I believe I do better sticking with one ball and leaning how to deal with that one, and not jump from ball to ball, as many of my friends do.

  4. As I have previously mentioned, I recently dropped Arccos and switched to Shot Scope.  I have four rounds in with my new V3, and I have absolutely no regrets.  It has functioned flawlessly.  It has detected every shot and uploaded flawlessly. I am starting to analyze my data, and am learning what exactly I need to work on next.  I am very happy that there is no annual subscription cost too.  One thing I do miss from Arccos is the GPS on my phone, but that is a small price to pay for the benefit I receive.  I can recommend Shot Scope without reservation.

I struggle to hit my 3 wood consistently off the deck ( raise your hand if you're with me!). I am wondering if a 5 wood would be easier to hit and get similar distance, or if I would still have the same issues? I've been working on correcting swing faults this year and it could be that more than anything else, but just thought I'd reach out for some opinions and what has/hasn't worked for others.

Thanks Paul! So what are you thinking as possible solutions? I've been watching a lot of slow-mo videos of really good irons players - Tiger (back in the day), Jon Rahm, Zalatoris, Keagan, etc... - and trying to pick up some of their motion and then videoing myself to compare and see where my weaknesses and strengths are.

I've learned my take back and initial downswing are good, but need to tweak a few things at moment of impact and my follow-through is atrocious, lol!

For myself, I will be booking some lessons, concentrating on my approach irons.  She, my pro, has helped me with my driver and wedge play, so now I will see her again for approach play

Finally joined the SS revolution and have real data on my game! Love this device and what it has done for me.

I sure thought my chipping was the weakest part of my game, but after 4rds logged I noticed that it’s really my iron/approach play that is my greatest weakness…which then leads to an excessive amount of chips, haha. Thankfully i start and finish each hole fairly strong , so looks like some lessons and range time to reconfigure my irons is in order!

Welcome aboard!  I am very new to ShotScope as well, and played my 4th round yesterday.  Like you, I find the my approach shots are the bane of my existence, and what I need to work on the most.

  8. I have used The Grint, and the only complaint I had with it is that it seemed to take a long time for my Apple Watch to get the correct yardage reads.  On my phone it was great, but the watch seemed to lag a bit, though it eventually got there.

  9. I was a tester for Arccos in 2020. For me there was just too much fussing with it on the course; missed shots, etc.  I have dropped Arccos for a couple of reasons. First was the 'fussing' I mentioned earlier, which distracted me from my game. Secondly was the annual renewal cost; it was just not worth it to me.  I have started using Shot Scope, and have three rounds it with it.  So far I have no complaints.  Shot Scope does not do everything that Arccos is supposed to do, but what it does, it does correctly... again, in my opinion.

Of course you just set yourself up to do just that, but like me, it's easy to do so you aren't as disappointed as you would have been if you went into the round thinking you "got this game figured out"!  😂

Hope you had a great round again today!!

There is truth in your words! I believe it is called 'self fulfilling prophecy'  Golf is a odd pastime for sure. Once you reach a milestone, you think you should be able to reach it all the time. I did have a nice round today; not as awesome as yesterday, but not bad all the same.  I do believe that yesterday took it out of me with the heat and humidity, but each round I play, I for the most part, enjoy

  11. Completed my second round with Shot Scope V3 today.  Again, every shot detected, and uploaded with no problem.  With a few more rounds under my belt, I will be able to start analyzing my game.  Looking forward to that for sure.  I have to say, as a former Arccos user, Shot Scope is so much easier to use, and a LOT less fussing with it on the course.

  12. Just arrived at Pinehurst for the first of my two annual trips!  This trip is a shorter one with my wife. When she and I play, we play at courses that are not extremely challenging, but it is a good time for her and I.  We found out the one of our favorite restaurants, Theos, and closed its doors.  While that is sad, it does open possibilities of finding a new favorite restaurant. My second annual trip, with my golf buddies will be in September. It will be a little longer and play more challenging courses.

It's a pretty easy system to operate including the edit feature. You might want to take notes of your first couple of rounds - normal score card stuff including number of fairways hit, putts, etc. Once you download the round you can edit in the desktop dashboard if you have bad eyesight like myself. Also as an FYI, you can go back in and re-edit/sign-off so don't worry if you've missed stuff.

Give us a shout if you have questions.

    Will do.  Thank you.

  14. My Shot Scope V3 arrived today.  I spent some time downloading the app to my phone, attaching the sensors to the clubs, setting up the desktop dashboard, etc.  I am so ready to 'give it a go' this Sunday!  I know I will have a learning curve, and I do not anticipate everything to work as desired the first time around.  I am hoping to get a lot of bugs worked out this weekend as next week I am going down to Pinehurst NC for a week. Typically I make two trips a year to Pinehurst, and this will be the first trip for 2022.
