BIG STU
Seriously first thing relax your hands. I do the club flip thing like Keegan Bradley does but I did it long before he was born. You have to relax period and tension transmits to the hands first and watch your grip pressure. I would suggest a range session with a favorite club and that club only. Do not go target hunting just swing and hit the ball get the groove and the feel back and absolutely no negative thoughts Let us know how it works out Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee. Dhuck Whooker
My 3 cents worth, 1)focus on breathing and start back as you exhale, 2) practice with a tour tempo type device or do your own rhythm thing to occupy your mind. Faldo used to joke about saying Er-nie-Els from start to finish, 3) humming during the swing may free things up. Start humming, start swinging and don't stop until the swing is over. This is a great way to identify where tension pops up during the swing. If the tension kicks in, the humming stops. EthanSterlingPrice
Well I played this morning shot 85 in spite of an 8 and a 7 on the back nine and less then ideal Texas winter weather. Warmed up with my favorite club (8-iron in case anyone was curious). On every full shot focused on my breathing and swung to a tune in my head to keep my rhythm smooth and overall just told myself I would have fun in spite of how I shot and it all seems to have helped. Still have a long way to go to get back to where I was but today was really encouraging. Thanks everyone for the help so far and if you have any more tips I'd love to hear them, I'll keep posting how it's coming as I go. Undershooter
If the yip is contact off of the hosel then you might want to try standing a touch further away from the ball. You could be a little close. You could be a little close. honestly it's not as much how I hit the ball as much as it is actually getting myself to hit the ball. I can still put at least a mediocre swing on it but I lock up at address and it takes forever to pull the trigger. tommc23
Morning drive was just talking about the yips and they said that the yips is a post shot reaction. In that they mean you had hit a poor shot and that's what you're afraid of doing again. So with them saying that the only real way to get over it is seeing a good shot come off of your club consistently.
