Tape your fingers?

Recommended Posts

It's important to have your grip positioned on the club in the proper manner.  For me, it's very essential (for accuracy) to have the majority of pressure in my right hand to be in the middle two fingers.  I have recently started taping those two fingers to remind me there's where I want my pressure to be. If my draw starts turning into a nasty hook I'm using too much right hand. If I concentrate on those two middle fingers it's my key to success.

Do you use tape as a reminder?

Nice. I tape my non glove thumb mainly for comfort.

I have taped my right trigger finger below the knuckle to relieve pain and pressure especially in cold weather. But since I manipulate the club some in my hands I do not tape up normally.

Before anyone asks the club manipulation is not something I recommend in fact  you can not teach it per say. For me it is one of my natural moves.

Uhhh Huuh I see you named the Green Thing the "pocket picker" have you been picking pockets lately with that thing?

If i taps my fingers I use some tape that I got for bowling. It comes on a roll, it's like athletic tape, but it's stretchy you should check it out. Do a search on amazon for bowling tape, look for the uncut rolls. It works really well for Golf too.

I used to have some tape similar to this. Pretty sure I bought it at Walgreens. I recall it wasn't a sticky tape - adhesive; but more of a stretchy - clingy like tape. Worked good I recall. Probably cheaper than the one above i'd imagine.

I use tape to cover the outside of my slightly curved last finger joint on my right ring finger, and on the corresponding side of my left index finger where they contact. I think i busted a tendon when I jammed it into a door handle when I was waxing my car, and if I don’t tape it or wear a glove, it rubs badly and causes a blister real quickly.
Just plain athletic tape works for me

So, I don't tape my fingers, but I may start putting some KT tape on my ungloved wrist just to try and relieve some fatigue and strain during the round. Maybe like the Bowling wrist set-up or golfer's elbow set up for longer rounds. The problem is I've broken each wrist once when I was younger and my swing is a little bit different because of it and it puts strain on those spots. I've thought about it for a while, but this upcoming season may be the time to take the plunge, especially if I plan on playing more

I use waterproof tape.  It works great especially if your hands get sweaty like mine.  I will tape up areas on my fingers that blister from practice over the summer.

My golf buddies always look at me funny when taping my right ring finger just before the first knuckle. I like some of these tape ideas from above. Amazon here I come haha. Go to look at tape and end up with a $200 order of other stuff I dont need.
