Had a great day, sunny, very light wind and course in great condition. Didn't play my best but still enjoyed it.

Highlights/Lowlights Took 3 to get out Shell bunker on 7, it is pretty big I'm sure there are bones of golfers who didn't make it out buried in it somewhere. And par'd the last to the adulation of the watching crowd and his dog.

I have stood in the same spot as pictured. It was the best golfing experience of my life.

There are many great courses but the Old Course you can say that you're in the footsteps off the greats especially with the iconic photos on the Swilcan Bridge

Two of the best days of my life when I got to play the Old Course. Hoping the UK/Scotland open up soon. We had a trip planned for June (I think you got our tee times!), now we're tentatively looking at September, but it might most likely wind up being 2022. Ever hopeful...

In my opinion, being in St Andrews and playing the Old Course has been the single best golf-related experience of my life.  Even if you don't play the Old Course, the town is magical, and the other courses are great.  I've been to Scotland for golf three times, Ireland three times, a fair number of places throughout the US, and the two week-long visits I've made to St Andrews are the best.

Couldn't agree more -- the town, the golf, the people - it was special.

I'd never read your review before and it is pretty accurate. Post COVID a few things have changed when I was up The Dunvegan had closed down and is now up for lease but a lot of the lot places you mentioned are still up and going. When we were there the St Andrews Brewing Co. had tents erected outside the brewery for COVID safe drinking which was the only place we could get in. The Jiggers Inn had setup 10 - 12 outside tables so you could watch and hear the players playing the 17th.

Just one bit of information on merchandise you have ones that are officially logoed by St Andrews Links Trust and others all around the town including the Old Course Hotel you will get another logo. The town coat of arms is a common one you will get from the town merchandisers

Everything is up and running again... The place is magical and the open-ish of everything make's it so enjoyable.

I had a foursume in front of us with 2 dag's and 3 students who were just like 1 minute before teatime at the tee boxes hahaha Golf is so pure there, not a hot shot fancy thing, no high fences nope you just walk the course... When we were there the opening of ' The Open'. was there with a big lasershow, fireworks and 5000 people on the fairway's of hole 1 and 18 hahahaha ... Allot of other places can learn allot of St. Andrews. It truly is the home of golf!

Glad you enjoyed it and got lucky with the weather in March, shirt sleeves! Did you play anywhere else when you were here?

Yeps we played The New Course and The Jubilee Course also... We got the WTF That's Awesome package

Everywhere the same layedback feeling and attitude. I will go back one day just to play the Cable and Eden Course and know that the experience is just as great

Awesome picture!

Going with a group of 8 guys May 1-8, including @MGoBlue100. We're going to spend the first part of the week in East Lothian, playing Kilspindie, North Berwick, Dunbar and the Renaissance. Then it's up to St. Andrews with tee times at the New, Jubilee and Castle. We'll be in the lottery for the Old Course and will probably pull at least one all-nighter at the starter's shack to see if we can get on. Also have a tee time at Dumbarnie, which I hear is special.

Just have to get through this week; big work meeting on Wednesday; my son's getting married on Saturday.  Sunday:  chill  with out of town guests and watch The Masters.  Begin next Monday to prepare the game!

I loved Dumbarnie when I played it last year. Lots of risk reward holes. Some pix attached
