The 3 wood is a MONSTER for me. I can honestly say I had never been confident in a 3 wood off the deck and the AJ Max is changing the game for me in that regard. I also striped the 7 wood on a dog leg left par 4 roughly 220 yards off the tee AND after my playing partner hit a poor shot. Needed a good one and was able to produce it in a “pressure” moment. I was dead set on the 3 wood for this weeks challenge but if I can get that out of the 7 I may end up using that, especially with the course I am playing Saturday as some of the holes are tight and a pured 3 wood could get me into trouble.

If the driver keeps it up, it may end up edging out the TSi3 solely based on the fact that I am seemingly generating more playable shots, which I’ll take all day over the potential distance loss. If you had told me that after week one I’d have laughed in your face. The drive on 11 was a missile, had a couple pulls with it like I said but if I had started them up the left side of the fairway they were very well struck shots. All of them would have been playable in a normal round, too.

Got in the front nine for this week's challenge and I'm planning to get the back nine in tomorrow.  Wound up using 7W, 6H, 9I, 58°.  Debating about leaving the putter home tomorrow, my putting was ATROCIOUS!  Driver's been kinda hit-or-miss for me lately and after hitting the 7W off the tee today, I might think about packing driver up for a couple weeks and going with something else off the tee.  Hooks are creeping back in, but I notice it becomes more of an issue when I try to put a little extra on my swing.  Gotta stop doing that (easier said than done).

Otherwise, this is now 27 holes over the last few days where I feel good about my ball striking, and that ain't not bad!

The driver battle is going to be interesting, it seems to slowly be tipping the scales and potentially kicking the TSi out of the bag! I agree with you though, I will take FIR over distance loss (at least a reasonable amount) every day. Heck, distance ain't all it's cracked up to be... I learned that during irons week playing a 4i off the tee and still scoring well.

... Whatever helps you sleep at night Tom. We all have mid and high index MGS members joining in the challenge and super happy to have them but you go out and recruit a +3?!? OK, I consulted Madam Ruby ($20) and she informed me Tom and his plus 3 pard would post the lowest score by TWO STROKES!  I was feeling a little depressed til she told me (for another $20) that because Bohnson is a +3 you have to deduct 3 strokes from that score so Team #1 wins by a stroke!

Got my back nine in today.  A solid day and better than yesterday.  Might have the opportunity to get another crack or two by the end of the week.  Putting was better and ball striking was really good again today.  If anyone's feeling charitable, I'm still available!

I may need to sell my GV60 to pay my AC bill.   Phoenix set an all time record for a LOW temperature of 97*. Since they started keeping track 125 yrs ago, that is the highest LOW temperature ever recorded. I am lucky I got my round in Monday.
