2023 MGS Forum: Cobra 50th Anniversary Special!

So here it is.  Doubt I helped much!  Can I replay 18?  I think I played pretty well for me, considering no driver and only one wedge relatively strong wedge.  Played 3W, 5I, 8I, and G.  Would probably do that differently if given a second chance.  
 

Birdies were tough to come by with the longer holes being the handicap ones.  Carrying driver and a hybrid may have been smarter than 3W - 5I.

Anyway, it was a real blast and a beautiful day too!  Thanks @chisag for letting me tag along!  And thanks to Cobra and MGS for this opportunity!

... Wow what beautiful views! That is as different from desert golf as you can get. Haha we both bogied #6 so that's some real teamwork.   But your birdies on #7 and #16 absolutely help, way to go pard! 

We have a team score of 66 and that is a very nice target score using 4 clubs only. And the Thanks are mine IBonzo and I hope your 2 birdies earn you a Cobra Polo and a Hat!

My first pic in my post is the driver “chute” on number 6 at the Fort.  Unfortunately I put my first in the left trees, then played it to par plus the penalty stroke for a (truly) gross double bogey.  I affectionately call the opening 6 at The Fort “The Gauntlet”.  #6 is not too bad if your first is in play.
 

Good luck to the other teams.  (Not too good!)

... A friend and I booked a round at The Fort. When we arrived they had an outing and evidently our booking was an error. I never got another chance to play there so thanks for the pictures.

Well, I tried to take you advice and go with what my feelings told me and not a mathematical calculation.  I guess I have to stay away from that feel stuff

How is it I take 13 hours to drive home. I am now three pages behind on banter and I still have to get my round in.

... Welcome back and I wish you the Best Of Luck! Coming in 4th is never easy but I have no doubts you can rise to the challenge! I know what you are thinking. There is only a Gold, Silver an Bronze medal and none for 4th. Just remember, it is about the competition, not the results. Go Team #2 because 4th, 5th and 6th are within your grasp!!!

If it is team 1 versus team 2 wouldn’t that be a Silver Medal for coming in second. You have been out in the sun to long. 

Besides the plaque on the trophy says it all.

There was no error in judgment. I was rooting for the right people. You know the nice guys that don’t enjoy putting down the others. The opposite of myself. The yin and the yang seem to go together.

... Must been a long trip Tom and I hope you get some well needed rest. We do this challenge one week at a time. There are 6 challengers this week so I am sure you can do the math. But if you want to claim a Silver Medal for coming in last out of 2 when the final results are tallied you are certainly welcome to claim that title as it will be well earned.
