Brad Lee
I currently play the SM9, 50, 54 and 60. I just dumped the stock TrueTemper shaft and dropped in Rifle 7.0 8 iron shafts, cut to spec. I have a Cleveland CBX 50* I have a Taylormade MG 3 Tiger grind 56* bent to 54* Currently I have a Renegar 58* which I will replace in March with a Taylormade MG 4 Tiger grind 56* bent to 58* that I need to put a grip on. I have two brand new Renegar 58* wedges I would be willing to sell for $100 each plus shipping if anyone is interested. I decided to change my 58* this year. I ordered a Taylormade MG 4 56* Tiger grind bent to 58/14. The spin I was getting from my 54 was just so much better than my Renegar 58* that I knew I needed to switch the 58* too. I did not like the Tiger grind 60 bent to 58* when I bought it in MG 3, so I went with the Renegar last year. After a year of playing the Tiger 56 bent to 54/10 I knew I need to try one bent to 58/14. I like it for my home course where we have the rough grown deep and thick. I like to fly the ball closer to the hole out of the rough and this club stops better. I have never played a face that feels more abrasive. I had an old Titleist Vokey spin milled wedge that was a near match and I loved that wedge. Hoyoymac
Didn’t like the Vokey SM8 wedges so I switched from Vokey SM7 wedges to Corey Paul wedges a few years ago and have never looked back. Raw forged steel. Feel is great and performance has been stellar. I have tinkered with grinding the soles and the leading edge to get exactly what I want from a bounce, heel, toe, and trailing edge relief. Plus the various stampings and laser etching options are just very cool to me. Build them at home with the shafts and grips I want, throw some BB&F ferrules on them and get them swing weighted a little heavier which I prefer. Just perfect!
