Michael.Sandoval33
54 minutes ago, cnosil said: my thoughts: Okay so speed control. Unfortunately that is a hard thing to buy an aid to try and fix. It really comes down to having a consistent rhythm that carries over for all putts. A metronome is probably the one thing that can help. you should do all kind of ladder drills and such to practice but we also need to work on the skill of having good touch and how you need to move the putter. Uses a phrase like one potato two; one potato is said for the backswing and two is the forward swing. You can say it slow or fast but it is consistently the same tempo for all length putts. Next the mind is a powerful thing. You can probably toss a ball different distances, putting is the same. I’d suggest finding a putt and making an overly large swing for that distance and the. Look at the hole and let swing length adjust based on the need to get the ball to the hole. Then use that swing for your putt. Move the putter back with one potato and let it fall through with two. You shouldn’t need to add any effort to the putt, just let it happen. Would you suggest taking it out to 30' in the ladder drill? Also, my natural inclination is to push the ball rather than letting the putter do the work itself. A lot of wrist flicking which I am trying to break the habit of. Not to jump in on @cnosiladvice because he knows his putting, but with wrist flicking, have you thought about a press grip? It takes that flick out. Also, my natural inclination is to push the ball rather than letting the putter do the work itself. A lot of wrist flicking which I am trying to break the habit of. Sure. You can do the ladder drill to 10 feet, 20, 30, 50; whatever distance you want. If you are doing 30' as the max, maybe set 20' as the minimum. Now you are getting into stroke related skills. The question is why are you flicking the wrists? are you trying to get the ball to the hole because you are short and want to give it a little extra? This kind of gets back to the touch skills. So, you need to figure out how to move your body to hit the ball where you have aimed the putter. roll the ball down a yardstick, setup some gates to hit the ball through, roll the ball over a dime 17" in front of your body. When you make a stoke try and hit the ball where the putter is aimed. pick a spot on the front and back of the ball that is on the target line and hit the back spot and stroke through the front spot....like driving a nail through the ball. 4 hours ago, Josh Parker said: Not to jump in on @cnosiladvice because he knows his putting, but with wrist flicking, have you thought about a press grip? rkj427
Well about 6:30PM EST must mean it is evening in some parts of the globe....................................... Mentioned earlier in another topic that today I would be spending most of the day doing some things for Leader Dogs, and this is s "tease" or preview of somethings I will post later or tomorrow in the "Random Topic Thread." There were a couple of different museum/automotive events locally, and the weather was absolutely perfect for both of them today. First one was Jack Frost Museum, located very close to my house. We had a group of our car club members meet there, and those of us in the red shirts worked trying to raise money for the Dogs through donations or 50/50 ticket sales. We also had some small items Leader Dogs sells at their gift shop if anyone wanted them. Arrived there about 10:00AM and left there about 1:30PM due to having another location to go to for their event. Second stop was Stahl's Museum in Chesterfield Township, MI about 15 miles from the first venue. Same plan of action, and only the couples in the above picture volunteered to work the second venue. They sponsored a "Great Race Rally Car" event, and although this rally was mostly local, most of those entered were from states all across America. Had a food truck on site, and the museum was open to the public free of charge. Picture below is one of the many cars which completed this event. Total of the donations and proceeds from the 50/50 ticket sales, and gift shop items was just under $1000.00 which went directly to Leader Dogs through the efforts of the people from our club who volunteered. I will create some photo albums in Google Photos later this evening, or very early in the morning and will post a link to all of them in the "Random Thread" topic. All in all a long day, but a very rewarding day as well. Dead Solid Bogey
Go figure…. I just got off golf IR that was somewhat instigated by you-know-who. Today was my second round back and “ BAM ️ “ the sky opened up and tried to turn the golf course into a marina. I was left with trying to deal with this… Crawled home complaining about the nasty turn of events caused by “ Mother Nature “. The wife-person chimed in that I should just be happy that there was a female that care enough about me to keep me from possibly hurting myself. I calmly steeled myself and answered; “ Good one “ to the Haranguing Highness. Took a nice hot shower and am now planning some sort of insubordination retaliation that won’t end up in my getting hurt or annihilated. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday my friends.. Erin B
@Josh Parker @Dead Solid Bogey I got a round in. I’ll bet you can’t guess what the conditions were…here’s a hint: 20-30mph gusting to 40mph. But I figured out what I was doing wrong. Too much flex (too loose) in my lead arm. Once I fixed that I was fine. I also found out the OnCore Vero X2 has too much compression for me, so I’m going back to the X1. I have big hitters in my family so they’re gonna get a couple sleeves. Erin B
Good evening mi amigos! Windy still with no real let up in sight. Tomorrow is supposed to be as well. But the Motocaddy is in! Too windy to unpack it outside. I’m going to get at least 9 in if the weather cooperates tomorrow. Hope everyone’s day was productive. Have a great evening everyone! I have tried walking with a normal push cart on my course and just about died. Keep eyeballing the electric carts.
