LeakyValve
@BreakfastBall15 same excited to use the air gun. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a helix grip on the course. Shawn Breitzman
2 hours ago, BreakfastBall15 said: That was an interesting read about the helix. I had never heard of it before. It sounds… complicated. But if you don’t have any tools it’s a great option. I have personally only ever done 2 grips before and one was a putter. I’m looking forward to the air install because it seems very easy. I never did any grip installs, these will be easy. Big thing suggested is to use some blue painters tape or something for the end of the shaft to protect from the shaft cutting the grip. If you have any questions, I’d be happy to help. I’m guessing star will have some good info for you though. EugeGall
So here is what I decided on getting (well what I ordered) The Tour Star+ are going on my big dawg, woods & hybrid. Already reduced tapered so should play like my Tour Velvet Plus4 (ok more like the 2G Wrap, but not as shiny thank god). Curious about how soft these really will "feel" like. The green Sidewinder are going on my irons with build up tape (staggered on lower part) to mimic the MCC Plus4 and the orange Sidewinder on my wedges with no tape to see just how much the taper effects the results. As I said in the intro I can always blow them off and start again. Now what I'm really curious about is the no logo on any of the grips. If like me you set your grips up with all the visual aids and logos lined up, I get lazy and just place my hands on the grips using these and I know sometimes I can end up being a little open/closed faced. I'm kind of hoping the no logo makes me take a little more care with this at address. LeakyValve
In an effort to not clog up things with more pictures I’ll piggy back off @EugeGall I’m getting the exact same grips in most of the same colours. Blue, black and white for tour stars. And orange, green and grey for sidewinders. Tour stars for the top of the bag and irons. And the sidewinders for my wedges. my biggest worry with the Tour Stars is the actual “wrap” and how it will feel in my hands. Having never played a “wrap” style will be interesting!! I got an email about 20 minutes ago saying they've shipped! As far a the wrap grip, I thought about it for a little bit but I've never been a fan of wrap style grips. So with my previous irons I got rid of a year or so ago I never changed the grips, thought about it a few times but I only played less than a dozen times a year. Had those clubs for about 8 years and the grips on it were Lamkin Crossline. They were pretty slick by the time I got new clubs. I had changed out a few other grips, mainly wraps on stuff off the rack, just didn't like the feel, but only did 1 regripping myself (buddy had a workstation for regripping, also did a putter if that counts). Every other time I would bring the club to a shop and have them do it. I will be doing these myself with the air gun. I will add that I was planning on regripping my clubs anyway this season and I'm not a fan of the grips on 12 of my clubs now (Lamkin Z5). Literally took me about a minute to two minutes to remove two year old grips and put new ones on. I do use blue painters tape down the shaft similar to a normal grip tape. What did you use in the end of the air compressor? Star grips says their gun will only work with their grips so don’t wanna try and use it and end up breaking it. I’ve heard a plastic raft needle works but I’m curious William P 1 Quote Driver: PXG Black Ops, Ventus Blue 6X Fairways: PXG 0311 XF Gen 5 3 and 5 wood, Project X Riptide CB 6.0 Hybrid: PXG 0311 XF Gen 5 22 degree, Project X Riptide 6.0 Irons: PXG 0311P Gen 5 5-PW, Project X LS 6.5 Wedges: PXG SG2 50, 56(55), Modus 125 Wedge; PXG SG 2 60, KBS 130 Wedge Putter: TaylorMade Spider GT Red SB Ball: Maxfli Tour S MGS Star Grip Review: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/63328-star-grips-2024-forum-review/

I’ve heard a plastic raft needle works but I’m curious Used the Pure grips attachment, I did purchase their gun, but found it screwed right into my other attachment so I use that mainly. Also purchased a club shaft vice grip and am very careful to not over tighten. Here’s a few pictures, looks similar enough I’m hoping to use the same attachment for my buddy when he gets his new grips from Star. The club shaft is a broken one that I’m showing what I normally do. Practice on the other side but it’s been thrown away now.
