Interesting that you docked the 3 wood for you topping it, since we know the club can't top itself. Or are you just docking it because of the penalties?

Got confirmation that my SM10 will be arriving next week Tuesday the 3rd! Once it does, I’ll create a separate thread as this will be for GT once we get our equipment in hand. However, the SM10s will (maybe) help with the wait for GT to arrive. 

Very much looking forward to what a different grind and feel can do for me with the 52° that will be arriving. Not sure when the 56° will show up that I ordered at my home course, but I can’t imagine it’ll be too far behind. 

Im in a higher bounce with the 52 SM10, which I think may help me on full swings. My Snakebite 52 is 8° of bounce, and the only option they had for lefties. I get steep with wedges and I tend to dig the 52. Really, really excited for this club to arrive.

Meanwhile... I had an uncharacteristically horrendous driving round today (maybe the 10K knows she's about to get benched). 

Everything else was great today (ignore the putting stats as I was rushing and 4 jacked it from 10ft by lazily not reading a 3ft putt twice in a row - sigh).

It was a 7AM tee time to sneak it in before work, and I didn't hit any balls before teeing off which either goes great or not great. Sadly it was the latter today. I had a severe case of the lefts with my usually very reliable 5W off the tee, and driver was either 260yds and right where I aimed it, or off the planet left. I feel like today was just one of those days when driver swing was just off!

Managed to rally on the back nine and hit some great 3W shots off the deck and tee, but arguably SG driving should be even worse as I was saved by a tree at one point. 

Just popping in with my reminder of why we're not on tour...

I am still in love with my relatively new 9W - hit an awful tee shot on 18 that would have been blocked from the green by trees at 190 yards out to the pin. No way my 5-iron could have cleared them, but enter the 9W and I was able to take dead aim and send it over everything. Extremely excited to see what a GT 7W can do in the bag!

Congratulations!  I figure you'll have about a four- or five-week lead on me.  My fitting isn't until September 11th.  So, until then, I'll live vicariously through you!

Interesting that the fitter had you at 9º lofted up 0.75º instead of 10º. Do you remember trying the 10º head? I feel like this is always the most interesting part of a fitting for me - i.e. the different parts of how they arrive at the loft combo that works best for a player.

I honestly can’t recall if we hit the 10° GT3 head or not. I know I hit the 10° GT2 head early in the fitting and it was too spinny. 

I may have hit the 10° head with the Tour AD-XC shaft that was hitting a higher peak height, but then when I would miss it was more left than my fitter wanted. 

C3 for lefties is also standard loft, but 0.75° upright. This was to help me keep the ball from going too left on misses.

Ahhhh - I didn't realize they didn't reverse the sleeve configuration for lefties. I guess that makes sense from a factory QA perspective, but kind of confusing for us non-lefties

Awesome news @GolfSpy_KFT. The wait is the worst part. Did things change from this chart? This shows D4 is standard for you weird lefties. I mean, I'm left handed, but I golf backwards, so what do I know?

Nope, no changes. Clubs were submitted in stock SureFit and weight track settings which is no big deal. I have a photo of the final setup with GT3 that has SureFit in C3 and the weight track in H1, so I’ll just have to manually adjust them once it arrives!

I would try to justify it by simply stating it was what I had access to when I first started learning and couldn't swap over after that, but, the fact remains.

Only hit each one a couple times during my fitting as it was at the end of nearly two hours. I had the GT fitting and then a SM10 booked right after, but it was insanely hot so we moved a bit slower and it took some time to land on the right driver combo. 

However, the few balls I hit with each wood were really, really good. I'm not sure how much, if any, distance I'll gain with 3 wood as my Aerojet Max is pretty long. I'll be looking more at dispersion and control on the course as my current gamers are draw biased heads and only have 60 gram shafts in them. It's not hard for me to turn them over too much and have some over draws that hurt me on course. This leads me to sometimes being hesitant to go after the ball, and then I'll leave the face open and miss left, so while they have been good, there's room for improvement.

The 5 wood I think can turn into a major weapon for me on the course. Two opening holes are both non drivable par 4s, and my 7 wood doesn't quite get me to the fairway on the dogleg left layout which can leave me with blocked approaches or really tricky ones. 3 wood often ends up too long and across the fairway. REALLY excited about the 5 wood.

A friend of mine just picked up a TSR3 head on a STEAL of a deal from a friend of his. He's trying out my Ventus TR Blue 6X and we met on the course to get it set up for him. I had to look the chart up to figure out the neutral setting lol.

Also should mention that my "fit for" vs. "non fit for" driver comparison is already in jeopardy 

I met my buddy on the course last night who picked up a TSR3 head so we could plug the Ventus into it....long story short he was loving the feel and ball flight he was getting. He is going to play it over the weekend and then let me know if he wants to buy it or not. I hope he does as I think it would be a great shaft for him, but slightly bummed I won't be able to do the H2H test haha. Maybe he'd let me do it for a range session still, though.

Going to help him dial it in to the best of my ability if he does buy it. He's a 3 handicap, so really fun to watch him hit the ball and play rounds with.

GT2 for the Titleist and the older models or competitors are the Callaway Paradym TD and Cobra F7 3 and 7 woods.

Love the side by side comparison! The GT line looks so dang good. May or may not be repeatedly checking the order status of mine fully knowing that it has not changed.

I actually got to see the GT line in the wild today. I got off work early and ran to DSG and they had them there. I thought both the 2 and 3 looked really good at address. My only regret is I didn't tap on the crown to hear how they made carbon sound like metal. 

I'm looking forward to the testers getting these clubs in hand so we can hear about their performance.

Still don't know how they managed to pull that off, but I can say with certainty it sounds like a Titleist. Couldn't believe how good it sounded and felt at my fitting. The TSi3 felt great, and this is better. Even when I flush one on the DS X now, it leaves me wanting more. 

Totally agree the 2 looks fantastic at address, much more players shape than the longer front to back forgiveness shape that's grown accustom to a more forgiving head style.

It's crazy how they were able to get that sound out of their PMP crown. I was listening to the Fully Equipped podcast and they had an interview with Stephanie Luttrel and I could hear her tapping it on a table in the background and it sounded like metal.

Completely agree. Can't imagine the amount of R&D that went into creating that material. So so cool. Thank goodness I have that SM10 coming in to tide me over till the GTs are shipped. Really looking forward to those as well. I think the higher bounce on my 52 is going to help me with full shots. With only 8 degrees of bounce on the Snakebite, I tend to dig a bit. I hit some really nice full shots with my 56 last night, and the bounce on the SM10 will be the same. Curious to see how the grind will work, but the feel is so good. Snakebites are just not quite as soft as I'd like.
