No head to head data yet - that will be after the 6th when my tournament season is about wrapped up. So in the mean time you get a crap ton of photos.

GT2 for the Titleist and the older models or competitors are the Callaway Paradym TD and Cobra F7 3 and 7 woods.

@GolferXY great fitting write up! So fascinating to read how the different heads feel and perform for everyone so far.

For me, the GT2 felt much lighter than the GT3 and I couldn’t find the middle well. GT3 I could feel the head weight much better which led to more consistent striking and absolute rockets once we got the right shaft in, which was AD-UB. Easy for me to square and middle while it did not do the same for you.

Again, emphasizes the importance of a GOOD FITTING, and further proves the fact that everyone can and should benefit from one!

That's so interesting! I wonder what our swing differences are that we have opposite experiences. Guess I'm just seeking out here. Thanks for the compliment on the fitting. As soon as I can get my videos edited and uploaded I'll add them to the review.

Great photos.  Really shows the differences in the GT and pre ious models.  Brings back my fitting and how the new face markings were so helpful.

It's certainly an underrated part that I've come up like. Even having the 8 degree head It's still noticeable.

His primary goal was to match launch and land angles, with spin a secondary concern.

It's so interesting what each fitter prioritizes. I feel like a lot of my experiences have been more focused on ball speed preservation/dispersion with spin and launch being the two main levers to get there.

Did he have you try the Tour AD IZ? I think that's the closest to the "blue" profile.

I wasn’t able to get video at my fitting as I was only focused on hitting clubs with it being so gosh dang hot, but plan to once the clubs arrive. Do you have a screenshot of the data you were seeing?

Just a word of advice: upload them to YouTube and then post the link. Don't try to upload the files directly to your post, or it will a) take forever; b) no one will be able to watch it without having to download it first, which most people won't do.

YT links embed automatically, and then people just have to click "watch".

There's a step-by-step tutorial on the FAQ page if you're not sure how to do it!

Nope, no changes. Clubs were submitted in stock SureFit and weight track settings which is no big deal. I have a photo of the final setup with GT3 that has SureFit in C3 and the weight track in H1, so I’ll just have to manually adjust them once it arrives!

Great idea taking a picture of the final set up.  I got to put that away when I finally get to my fitting.   In two fittings in the past, what I tried and we agreed on showed up different when they arrived at my home.  Having photographic evidence rather than memory is a good thing!

Right away what jumps out to me is the difference in AoA between you and I, which may factor into how the heads and shafts differed. Mine was consistently right around 3.5. My launch angle was also sitting right at 11 vs your 13. I wish I launched it in that window. Biggest goof I had was not asking for Trackman numbers to be sent to me. Really bummed on that.

Those are some darn good numbers with 3000 spin!

I actually got to see the GT line in the wild today. I got off work early and ran to DSG and they had them there. I thought both the 2 and 3 looked really good at address. My only regret is I didn't tap on the crown to hear how they made carbon sound like metal.

As a plastics engineer by education (yes they do have degrees in plastics) and by trade, if the crown makes the sound that I think I've heard on some reviews, there's only a few plastic matrix materials that make that sound.  Like you @sirchunksalot, I want to hear it for myself to hear what it really sounds like.

I'll get that chance at my fitting on September 11th and will report back.

I'm just really fascinated by it since that's one of the reasons Titleist finally went to a carbon crown. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it since you've got the expertise in the field.

I mentioned the podcast where I heard Stephanie Luttrel tapping the crown and here it is:

You can hear it around the 44:30 mark.

Oh man, I’m going to have to do some reading.  I am way behind on my golf information.  Titleist and a carbon crown?  Might be able to get rid of that… nope, can’t say it because it is my best club currently.

It blew my mind, too. They ended up using what they call a proprietary matrix polymer to get the sound that Titleist players are accustomed to.

Little bag update, though non GT related, @GolfSpy_BEN is going to be sending me a Kai’Li White 70X shaft to put into my AJ Max 7 wood. Going to see if the heavier and stiffer profile may help me with the over draws I have been seeing. If so, it should help that club to slot in nicely behind the GT2 5 wood and between my irons set. Already ordered the Cobra adapter and then will just need to get it swapped once I get the shaft in hand.

Titleist truly hit a home run with the design of their new woods. I’ll definitely give them a try the next time I’m at my local golf store. As I’m hearing nothing but good things about them.

The sound of the GT4 is a little off putting to me. Not that it's necessarily bad, it's just very different from the 2 and 3. I was honestly happy with the sound from the 2 and 3, but then again, I used to play a HiBore, so acoustics have never been a deal breaker for me. The more I wait for the clubs and think back on my fitting, the more I appreciate the engineering that went into the GT clubs.

My Rogue ♦️ ♦️ ♦️  has an odd noise at impact as well, I don’t particularly like it, but the performance is too good to pass up.  As far as acoustics go, I think Cobra has the best “sounding” drivers.  Nice loud crack, no loud baseball bat sounds.

I think there is a demo day coming up. I believe that I am going to have to go test these things out.

The Cobras do sound good, but to my ear the GT sounded better. Once I get mine in I’ll try to get some good audio of the GT3 and Darkspeed X for comparison sake

As we await shipping notifications for the GT long game clubs, I am wondering what aspects of this test everyone is looking at? I know for me, a more controllable shot shape and reliable distance on misses with driver is one of the most important things. There's been comments on sound, so I will plan to get comparisons of that against my Darkspeed X.

What else would everyone like to see?

As we await shipping notifications for the GT long game clubs, I am wondering what aspects of this test everyone is looking at? I know for me, a more controllable shot shape and reliable distance on misses with driver is one of the most important things. There's been comments on sound, so I will plan to get comparisons of that against my Darkspeed X.

What else would everyone like to see?

I’m a big fit and finish guy.  Overall build quality says a lot.  I’ve had new clubs show up with crooked grips, over glue on the hosel, etc.  I wouldn’t expect any of that from Titleist.

I know one thing I didn't look at too closely during the fitting but it is something that has me curious is the composite crown. They claim it is seamless in the integration into the clubhead, and they certainly don't draw attention to it with graphics like some other manufacturers do, but I will be curious to take a closer look. I'm curious just how seamless the transition from the composite to the rest of the body is. We did see that Jason had his order go in with a different hosel setting that what he was fitted to, so he may end up with a grip and shaft that faces the wrong way. Maybe a minor thing, and may get corrected before build, but that could be annoying.

I could probably send in a request to have it changed to that setting and may, but I've never gotten too hung up on graphics of the shaft or grip logo as I don't use any of it to align my hands. I more or less thought it would just be in the right spots so I don't have to tinker with it lol.

I get that. I adjusted my current 3 wood from the original fitting, so the shaft and grip turned along with the adjustment. It's not something that bothers me, but some people are much more OCD than I am, and I'm not exactly normal, so I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Agreed.  The GT4 sounded like hitting a concrete ball with a square piece of wood to me.  I hit it decently, but not well enough to justify the inconsistency in dispersion compared to the GT2...and certainly not well enough to tolerate the sound.  I will say that until my 3rd fitter put my in the Tour AD VF 6S shaft and the 8° GT2 head with the +2 gram rear weight, the sound difference between my Epic Flash Tour Certified head (which sounds great when well-struck) and the GT series as a whole was one of the reasons I was leaning towards going and filling my AiSmoke fitting order.  However, the above combo changed that in about 3 swings...and after 30 more swings didn't change my mind back because I was still striping the ball farther and straighter with less sidespin (by a LOT) and much more manageable backspin (1900-2200 RPM versus 3200-3400 w/ the Epic Flash), I was sold on buying the GT2.  Once the fitter had the head, loft, weight, and shaft combo right, it all clicked and sounded just right...and of course, I was hitting the ball great too.
