Whatever irons you personally hit well are the best.  

 

For me.... Srixon.    The OG ZX7 gets me excited every time I catch my bag from this angle.

They're accurate, workable without being uncontrollable, have superb turf interaction, great feel, and are surprisingly forgiving for a player iron.

Miura without any doubt.  I play Miura irons for approximately the last 10 years and I am still playing the CB57.  Amazing clubs.  However, you have to be at least a single digit handicap to play these irons.  I also have some Vega wedges and they are also amazing.

I gotta say I was never big on PXG but since I have owned some and played all season with them I can't deny their feel. They are consistent and feel amazing. If I didn't have PXG the next best irons are Mizuno. These two brands feel like butter to me plus they are forgiving as well.
