New top of the line launch monitor/simulator

Recommended Posts

My local Nevada Bobs is putting in 2 new launch monitors/golf simulators. It kills me that I can't remember the name but I was hoping you guys could help me figure it out.

The owner said they were new and not only used a camera but also have doppler set ups. He was going to get trackmans but these were much better and ran $80K a piece. The first time he saw them was at the pga show this year. They have plates below your feet which measures your weight displacement during your swing. I also remember him saying that they were either made by top golf or for top golf or that top golf used them.

Any help figuring out what they are would be appreciated. The only thing I could think of was a GEARS set up but I know that wasn't the name he used. Thanks guys

Full Swing Golf?

http://www.fullswinggolf.com/products/performance-products/myswinguru/swinguru-overview/

That brand and "AboutGolf" are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

Most top end sims are about at the 50-80K price range I understand.

Just looked up the two you mentioned and it is definitely the AboutGolf simulator. I saw that their upper end models have force plates available. I'm pretty excited for these because they are only going to be charging $20 an hour to use them.

I've never used the force plates, but have been on 3 different AboutGolf sims and they are very good. The distances are accurate as to what I see on-course.

Don't they use some flavor of "About" on the Golf Fix?

I don't like the AG sims the PGA store here has lined up down one wall. They're good for selling clubs but not much by the way of fitting. They're easy to trick if you hit the ball in the right spot on the screen. That and the claustrophobia of the booths

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

I'm not sure how accurate this one will be for fittings but I know it's one of their top of the line AboutGolf simulators. The owner seemed very impressed by them because he was leaning trackman originally. I'm mostly interested in renting them out for club testing and rainy days. Its hard to beat $20 an hour in my area.

My local winter golf getaway uses About Golf simulators as well.  I've also found distances to be fairly accurate (as well as spin) but you definitely get some wonky shots from time to time.
