Taylormade BRNR mini. Coincides with me actually finally getting the feel of it and hitting fairways after 2 months outdoors emoji1787.png

Cracked the 300 mini just before Xmas, replacement head didn't get here till late Feb. Had a friend blow up a TM sim and then subsequently have the replacement stealth head delaminate. Another friend cracked a cobra F9 this spring (that one he's about 175ballspeed so again probs due time), and another friend crack an M1 (but he swings at like 190ballspeed so that one I get...surprised it lasted as long as it did).

Dang I have seen a lot of posts on Reddit with people cracking their Stealth drivers, didn't know it extended to the Brnr too

The new Tour B lineup came out late last year, and they did make changes to it from the previous model. The mindset is the exact same release, just with the logo.

Seems like it is a different ball from the last iteration:  https://www.bridgestonegolf.com/en-us/press-releases/2024/bridgestone-s-groundbreaking-new-tour-b-lineup-pushes-the-envelo

I wasn't sure because the box is the same except for the mindset designation.

  3. Have there been any changes to this year's BX other than the mindset stuff? I swear it spins more than it used to, through the whole bag.

Didn't have time to post but I got my dozen earlier this week and put it into play today. I might be imagining things, but if the ball spun as much as it did today, I wouldn't have stopped playing it. I used to hit it a lot flatter when I was playing the BX, and maybe it's because I have some new swing thoughts, but today it wasn't the case. I also found it to check more around the green which was appreciated today.

On to the Mindset stuff, I have my doubts but I will say that I had the best driving day of late today hitting 11/14 fairways, though 2 of them were less than driver so I'm not sure if that counts. I kinda find the "focus on the green dot" thing to be distracting, but picking a target and imagining the shot might be something I incorporate more now. First round with it so I don't want to jump to any conclusions.

Well... I think that reading through all of the previous comments answers the basic question I have of this thread's participants, but I'll ask anyway.

With the obvious and vast improvements in graphite shafts over the years, to the point where they provide lower torque and greater accuracy than that of steel, does graphite still provide significant reduction in hand and joint stress? I'm not talking about the shaft performance; that part has been and continues to be a matter of record. I'm talking about its benefit for hand & joint trauma.

I'm not far away from looking into new 6 thru W irons and I have enough joint problems that I'll spend the extra money if they can prolong my playing days. It's just that, in my addled mind, if graphite is more accurate than steel, that means graphite is more ridged than steel??? So does graphite still significantly reduce vibration transmitted to the hands??? This being a MGS forum thread (you know, being datacratic and all), does anyone know of a test demonstrating vibration reduction in modern graphite vs. steel? I wouldn't know where to start otherwise I give it a try.

I'm 38 but I have effed-up wrists from years of eating it on skateboards and working at a computer. Played 54 holes over a 3-day weekend 2 years ago, and my lead wrist was in pretty bad shape after. So for my "welcome to fatherhood" present I got a fitting at Truespec to see if graphite was possible. My previous experience with graphite shafts was back in the 90s when I was a junior golfer and had an off the rack set that was handed down to me. I hated them because I couldn't feel where the club was at in any point of my swing. Modern graphite shafts are a completely different story and the Steelfibers I'm playing now feel very similar to the Modus 105s I was playing in my previous irons (also fitted).

Playing multiple rounds over consecutive days doesn't happen much for me lately, but I'm confident my wrists wouldn't be nearly as sore after switching.

It really pains me to post this but with 22 rounds under my belt with the LAB DF3, I can definitely say that my putting has deteriorated since I made the switch.  It got off to a great start but my strokes gained putting has deteriorated quite considerably.  With the 42 rounds I have logged in Tangent my SGP relative to a scratch player is +0.3.  For the last 10 it is -0.5 and for the last 20 it is +0.2.

For those who read my original review when I ordered the club you'll remember that the performance differential with my Toulon Atlanta was quite close but I was more confident with short putts with the LAB.   That is still the case but the biggest issue I have with the club is pace control.  I just can't get the hang of it.  Touch and finesse is where I'm struggling.

I've definitely found the club to be hotter off the face than my Toulon and that has undoubtedly caused some issues with pace and line.  I've gone from dying the ball in the hole to consistently missing long and right, probably not adjusting the borrow for the extra pace off the face.  I do think you need to alter how you putt naturally to get the most out of this club and that can feel awkward at times.

I'm not prepared to give up on the club just yet, especially as I paid £575 for it, but I'm very tempted to go back to my Toulon and give this one some time out of the bag.  But it might never get back in.  I'll make some time to get to the practice green this week and do some more drills up against my Toulon.  Right now though, the early confidence has had a considerable setback.

FWIW, I struggled a lot with pace when I was gaming my DF2. Not sure if it's the difference in head, shaft (DF2 had stability shaft), or both, but the Link.1 feels much firmer off the face and I feel like I have better control of pace/touch.

No notification was going out as there was 1400 plus ppl that applied and only 300+ that were getting them from the second go around.

The other thread was for the sign up up and we want to have the discussion surrounding the golf balls here.

Pretty sure you were one of those who got them, but don't have a timetable on when they will arrive for all.

    Gotcha, thanks for the clarification

These are both Zgrill pellet grill smokers. Do you have sams club? Mernard's? Costco? Etc?  Can usually find great sales on them a few times a year.  I started with a 30" offset many years ago and have tried many different types and brands of smokers since.  It all depends on what kind of dedication and time you want to invest in the cooking side of things.  Each style has its pros and cons.  Start small

Yeah we have Costco and Sam's. I've been using a Weber Summit Kettle for the past 3 years. I like it and I've "figured it out" but the only issue is that you can't add more fuel without taking everything off which is super annoying for long smokes. I'm kind of put off by pellets just because I don't know what's in them. I buy my charcoal and wood chunks from a local producer.

Grad party tomorrow,  brisket prep tonight. 15lb Full packer + a 6lb point ( trimmed weight) will prep the ribs at 11am tomorrow.  Due to several guests with gluten, corn, and soy allergies, all rubs will be natural ingredients,  and hand mixed.

Smoked baked beans from scratch too. (Soaking overnight)

Any suggestions for a comfortable shoe for walking for someone with big toe pain? I like my adidas code chaos 22 but my right big toe kills me after walking 18 in them.

Should probably see a podiatrist my friend, they'll be able to help you more than any suggestion. This is coming from someone who has collected sneakers since 2002 and had a shoe addiction 😂.

Went the more subtle route myself and went with the black and green one as I am always a fan of subtle detailing that the black background provides for the green. It was an honest toss up between this one and the white one but after seeing some sneak peaks of the shafts I'm very happy with my  decision.

Got the official shipping notification yesterday as well as an expected delivery date this morning. Shaft is expected to be delivered on Wednesday and I already have a Saturday tee time set for 10:40 in the morning! Can't wait to absolutely grip it an rip it on the course!

Also I will be testing the 505X for the speedy members of this forum.

Loved the 505x when my fitter put it in my gamer driver just to try out for fun. Obviously she was doing it so I would buy one, but I was waiting for the new driver heads to come out at the time. Maybe I'll treat myself for father's day 😎

I had a work colleague give me a visor from The Olympic Club. I wore it LONG past the time any club member would have thought appropriate. I’ll probably never get onto the property, but the logo is 🔥🔥
