Played our annual 4th of July tournament today and shot 73. My net and gross were the same so I could not compete with the net 61 that won the event. Really think we need to have a seminar at my club on how handicaps are supposed to work. A guy in my group was a 14 that shot 77.....gross.

elbow started feeling funny a few rounds ago, ignored it and played 2 days ago, first two holes were ok I thought, bit of a twinge but Its a beautiful day so I'm carrying on.
On the 3rd tee halfway up my backswing I though I'd been shot in the elbow with a red hot needle!
tried a couple more times and dropped the club it was that painful.
Had to walk off and research t'interweb for the reason and fix. So it looks, and feels, like tennis elbow, torn tendons and muscles etc
Watched videos on how to recover quickly and been doing them the last 2 days plus I've strapped a bandage over it, going to try again tomorrow as I was playing pretty good with long game no issues and chipping and putting coming on enormously.
I'm going to try a half swing and very very light right hand pressure and see if I can play, wont be the same not being on both toes and hitting hard but I WANT to play...

Swing seemed a bit better on the course yesterday and the extra speed definitely showed up a few times with 4 drives that topped 300 yards with my furthest being 322.

I think it was a brilliant piece of marketing. While all the other big brands were basically closed down due to their factories being shut down PXG was able to offer new clubs at a price that beat the competition. Plus with their high price point originally it makes us all feel like we are getting a massive deal. Obviously with how backed up they seem to be they must have had an insane number of orders. Probably going to have an extremely strong financial quarter.

I think the marketing has certainly worked on one person
The flip side 'could be' sell cheaper clubs as we need to shift stock to make room for new models. Backed up due to covid working restrictions so less staff and certainly supply chain affected. Time will tell about their financial quarter but most companies dont cut prices when product is in demand. I give you Apple as an example.
Just another perspective.

Just posting to say its eased after 67 days and I have a tee time for this afternoon yippee
The weather here is hot and dry so I'm hoping the course is in ok condition and I play as well as I was pre lockdown, report later.
well it was scorchio and I think I forgot all the simple swing thoughts I had in winter that had me playing consistently the best I have had for years.
Pulls, heels, thins and a couple of J Arthurs were the order for the front 9. Remembered by key swing thoughts and feeling back 9 and it started to come back, but man its hard leaving golf for nearly 3 months and expect to play well. Back out Wednesday for game 2 of my weekly allowance of 2.
Good news is the range is open if no more than 3 at a time well apart, so will head down there at night when its cooler.

Touring pro's can shoot 84 in a tournament! It happens, its golf and why we love it.
As a 2.3 handicap I could shoot 65 then a week later 81
Now as a 6 I can still shoot below par rarely and well above par consistently.
But I still have fun!

Kind of, havent heard from Ping about the videos they mentioned, plus it will be a very unusual fitting sitting in my front room, but who knows, maybe it will turn out to be the best one ever!
I'll update of course once its done.

I practiced the last couple of days with my eyes inside the ball about a ball. I did make better putts that way!!!
Seems the majority who responded are inside the ball. Thanks to all who responded.
including Luke Donald, and he's ok at putting

agreed re social media and the news- I had it on in our house all day, so I wouldnt miss any govt updates, but I found we were also talking about it constantly and our anxiety was rising.
Decided to watch the govt briefing at 5pm ONLY and the rest of the day is watching netflix or recorded shows, swing and chipping in the garden, housework and garden chores.
I def feel better for doing this.

Madness until a vaccine or accurate tests are available with results within hours..
Can you imagine the furore if one person contracts this deadly disease from any tournament?
You could have 1 super spreader who unknown to him/her infects hundreds at one tournament just by touching a flag, or score card, pencil, water bottle storage handle etc etc
If only I could invent a pair of glasses that would let you 'see' infected areas or people, like infrared does.
I think our lives have changed dramatically for the next 18 months.

if they didnt make them stronger but did make the ball go higher we would all be losing a lot of distance- it makes sense based on the science. Just takes a bit of getting used to when you would normally play a 6 iron to your fav par 3 and now its a 7 or 8.
How'd you play?
