hckymeyer
Just got a random cold call on my cell phone from Krank golf wanting me to buy a new Krank Formula 6 driver. Or fairway or hybrid too I guess. It's not too often I get cold called to buy a golf club though, so it was more novel than annoying. Anyway shortly after I get the email announcement so here it. Pretty bold claim that they have produced the longest hitting and most accurate driver ever made in golf. I just wish it was part of the Most Wanted testing, I love claims like this with no facts to back it up. Click the link for details and here's a picture I cut and pasted from that link. http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?ca=f2207f5f-708b-4005-9791-77d12400f082&c=8568d230-b466-11e3-9e56-d4ae5292b9a6&ch=867b0580-b466-11e3-9eb7-d4ae5292b9a6 Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. I am trying to get my hand so one asap. The Rage Black felt a whole lot better to me that the Element/Formula 5. More solid for sure. I would have liked to try some other shafts in the Element I had now that I found a couple shafts that work better for me. I "traded" it to a certain R.P. Jacobs who never held up his end of the deal and kept my driver with no apologies. So much for experimenting. I should have known better. He's done that to several people here. Oh well. wbealsd
I had one of their fairway woods years ago, when I was first taking up golf and buying every club that was "longer and straighter" than everything else - lol I'll just say, I really prefer my Titleist I need to update my earlier comment. I ran across the Krank "Red Hot Chili Pepper" fairway wood while I was out in my garage a couple of hours ago. I'm actually able to hit it pretty well now, comparable to my Tom Wishon 949MC 4 wood, and noticed when I had them side by side, the shaft in the Krank is longer (which probably explains why I had trouble controlling it a few years ago). I think I'll try some other shafts in it this year, as a summer project! WScott
I have had two Formula Five drivers. I had a Black Rage (White) before that. I had to change shafts on all of them because I am over 70. I put an MP4 shaft in the Rage and really liked it. So I bought a Formula Five and put the MP4 shaft in it. While I hit a few long drives, for me, it never felt right and certainly was not particularly forgiving. A year later I bought another with the stock "lite" shaft. It did not preform as well for me in any respect. It has been a big disappointment. I have sold both drivers. I have received the new Formula Six offers but I will not be buying one -- at least not until after I see some testing results related to seniors and golfers with average swing speeds. I have liked the people I have talked to and the company in general. That just makes it more disappointing. I guess I could say the same things about the Grenade driver. Dean D
I had one two years ago and loved it but couldn't keep it in the fairway. The hottest head in golf but I wasn't good enough to hit only the sweet spot. Tried two different shafts and lofts, really long but just out of my control. Hit it farther than anything before or since. (8.5 hdc.) Got turned on to it by Ryan Winther, personal acquaintance who won the World Long Drive two years ago. One of Ryan's teachers also has one and agrees, nothing is longer. Haven't tried the new one. Krank's owner is a long driver and easy to work with, call and he is available to help. I probably couldn't keep a formula 1 race car on the track either.
Dhuck Whooker
Sorry to jump in late, ten days late, ten dollars short, but I own a Krank F5 and when properly struck produces some cannonating blasts. (God bless Danny Gallivan). Got an e-mail from Krank on Monday but didn't reply. Don't know what it is going to cost other than if I pre-order a Krank F6 now it will cost $200 less then if I wait. It is an algebra problem. Just need to find out what x is. But if there is no adjustability with these new heads then I am going to sit this one out, without access to demos in order to test heads with shafts then it is just a guessing game. I promised myself no more of that. BTW, any of you fine-golfer-spy-guys know what the Krank F6 costs if pre-ordered? Respectfully,DHUCK WHOOKER
