Platelet rich plasma injections

Trying to avoid elbow surgery with this.

Anyone heard any good things?

I'm sitting with Penny who is having an IVIG infusion to boost her immune system. That's a purified blood plasma on steroids.

 

I can't speak to how an injection will work on the elbow. These infusions are life savers for her.

My wife had the treatment twice on both elbows at Mayo.  Slight relief,  Disappointed.

That is the next thing we are going to try so I can avoid surgery as well. Rest and ice are no longer effective.

I'm going to strongly recommend CBD Oil.  I posted about this in the "Are drugs the Golfer's best friend" thread in the Lessons/Fitness forum (CBD is one of the non-psychotropic components of Marijuana and 100% legal in many states).  I've been using it on stiff/sore back muscle areas resulting from my chronic spinal condition and also on my very mild but chronic elbow/bicep pain.  After about 3 weeks of regular use, I am almost completely pain free, even after consecutive days of golf (it's been 15 years since I've been able to say that).  I have a tube (like a chapstick applicator) of the balm that I had a friend try who has an arthritic hand condition resulting from a fall and another suffering from a six month bout of plantar fasciitis.  Both got almost immediate relief and both have now run to the CBD store to get their own.  It's said to have both healing and pain relief qualities.  It's definitely worth a try.

Had it done on my hip, to relieve pain from advanced osteoarthritis plus a torn anterior labrum. Procedure came with lots of disclaimers about effectiveness but for me, it worked .. and lasted for about a year or so, too.

 

Find a good pain management doctor who had done a lot of these.. and they may be ok but I'd be wary of these "sports clinics" popping up.

You're young enough you may be a candidate for gene therapy aka stem cell injection.

 

According to the doctor (Mt. Sinai) who did my PRP it's more effective.
