tchat07
Alright question for the group I've been doing the SS for 18 weeks and have started to play. The first time out I was wild with me drives (same as usual but going farther so more trouble) and adjusted something in my grip and now can keep it in play for the most part. However when trying the grip with SS it takes about 5-10 mph off, should I continue with my alternate grip on SS or stick to my old grip because the idea is to swing as hard as possible? Side not only use the different grip with the driver no other clubs. Sent from my SM-G950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app revkev

Side not only use the different grip with the driver no other clubs. I use the same grip with the SS sticks as I do with my clubs. Not sure why you changed grips. I think the trap we get into when first swinging an actual golf club is that you try to swing faster. You shouldn’t try to swing faster like you do with the training sticks, you will just swing faster without a conscious effort to make the faster swing. I use my regular grip when making super speed swings and try to replicate my righty grip, lefty. (The exception is for the recoil swings from ASD 2 but you aren’t there yet so no worries)2. I try to visualize hitting the ball when making super speed swings of all types and I also try to visualize its flight off that swing. Daisy Suggested this to me and it’s very helpful.Conversely I try to visualize my super speed swings when hitting regular shots.3. It may be time to take a lesson to help with your driving accuracy. Luckily, it's not bad enough to stop me from the protocols and playing, but it's definitely an annoyance - mostly feel it in those 10 warm-up swings with the red club and after I'm done, but once I get going, I hardly notice it. revkev, SuperSpeed Golf and joen

cnosil
I am 6 weeks into the program so protocol 1 is now complete. While I didn't see my superspeed numbers increasing over the 6 weeks, I did get a driver swing speed increase. interesting to see my numbers compared to how most others saw a progressive increase through their training. I looked back through the thread to see if anyone did a comparison of the radar unit to an actual launch monitor to see how they compared but couldn't find anything. Anyone reading the thread have that kind of comparison? Since we are don't with driver testing, I don't have ready access to comparing driver swing speeds on the MGS GC Quad. Time to dig up a pad for the knees as a start protocol 2 and kneeling swings I did in fact make the comparison between the radar and my voice Caddy at the very start of testing. I’ve compared Voice Caddy to my fitters trackman and it’s inside of 1 mph so pretty close. I dropped the Voice Caddy comparisons to avoid confusion. Bottom line for me the Voice Caddy registers 3-4 miles per hour slower than the radar. But I’ve gained close to 10 mph on it too - 88 when we started 95-100 now depending on the day and time of the day and whether I’m hitting range balls or on the course with my gamers. I think all of us experienced more SuperSpeed gains than you did in level 1 but who cares so long as you’re seeing the actual driver speed gains? That’s the program’s goal. So you are certainly achieving it. I’m done with kneeling - thank the Lord. On to the next level for me!!! Bucky CC
I finished my week 26 training yesterday and this morning was able to play for the first time since October. It was hard to get an accurate read on my overall driving distance as the temperature was around 50° and there was very little roll, but I seemed to be carrying my drives to about the spot I used to get with roll last summer. Maybe an extra 15-20 yards? I brought my SwingSpeed radar along to the range before the round as well. Most of my swings were around 115mph, but I did hit 118 as I started to warm up. I'm going in for a full bag fitting sometime in the next two weeks so I'll let everyone know if there are any big equipment changes coming. Otherwise most of my posts will probably migrate over to the 2019 Cobra Connect challenge thread. Lastly, thank you to my fellow testers for sharing this journey with me. The biggest obstacle with the SuperSpeed training program is definitely staying committed to the program, but it was much easier with everyone else going through the same peaks and valleys and offering feedback and encouragement along the way. This continued until I think week 9, and then I had a very distinct jump of about 9%. I’ve been on that plateau for 7 or 8 weeks now. My driver actually slowed down a bit at the week of the 2nd protocol, but that seemed more in line with what I think I should be doing, so maybe that first driver test was a fluke. cnosil and MattF

sirchunksalot
Thanks! Bucky, it's been great having you here during the SuperSpeed testing. I wish you the best of luck playing with the full set of Cobra's. The Cobra Connect challenge is definitely one of my favorite reads, so I'm sure I'll see you there. Thanks for the week 26 update, those are some awesome gains! I know it's going to be tough having to play more golf, just hang in there. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
