The TC Pro is an absolute beast. From the sound, feel, and low spin nature. It shocked me with its performance.
It's very close in build parameters to the Titleist TSR4. I ran it in a head to head comparison, and the Pro blew it away. Dispersion and control were far better. Sound which is almost hard to believe was just as good if not netter than the TSR4. Feel certainly was.
I did also run the TSR3 against it and that head faired far better vs the Pro. The Pro just barely edged it out.
Oh and the head cover is very high quality and slick looking. 39acd8255dc471389e9eb07bcb07985d.jpgbceec74173f8241a9d1d890d6244d49e.jpg674b465de29b77067e620d473f798c15.jpge0551101a3a8b8ad9eb843c376511cc2.jpg3a78251d354cf642b0f315ba776474ea.jpg15e35f8abb1f4072a0b8566d63410f30.jpg180ed6529eb2672c428756efde4cbfb0.jpg

I know it's a total nerd builder observation but an adapter with ribs inside shows an extra level of thought. This thing looks marvelous!

The first edition of adapters way back when didn't hold well at all. Then, they adopted the 'threads' style. This version of the adapter has the threads all the way to the top, and they are deep. It gets rid of the plastic ferrule. Overall, the quality of this head is a step up. I would swear it's a Titleist head if it wasn't marked as a Maltby.

Most OEM's still haven't gotten this right. You have to run 60 grit around the inside to create some good score lines.

Needless to say I'm heavily interested in this one. I just bagged a new Gen 6 PXG 0311XF (only club from PXG I'll play) so this may be slotted for my 2024 driver if all of the reviews and stats come back like yours.

Man - that thing looks pretty phenomenal.  What shaft did you order it with?  Or did you do head-only?  I have an All-Fit adapter on my driver shaft - curious if there's a cog for Maltby drivers, or if I'd have to get a shaft to go with it.

I'm in a PXG 0311 XF (Gen 5) currently, and really loving it, but I'm always curious about Maltby's new stuff.

Just in my net so far. Sound and feel are phenomenal on this design!

I'm sure the question about the acoustics is something many are curious about. Titleist definitely worked some sorcery to make their full-titanium head sound the way it does.

Is this head similar with a dull crack? Or is there any but of a metallic sound?

The face feels really dense like you hit a forged iron with a thick face but with just a little metallic sound added in. It's addictive for sure.

Super curious here to read the reviews, especially re distance and dispersion on this club vs larger head/other brands + models.

I got the 50°, 54°, and 58° TSW wedges. Not much to say about performance except that the low bounce suits my swing way better. Like, enough to change my biggest weakness (based on Strokes Gained) from short game to approach shots. Other than that, distance and spin are exactly where I expect them to be.

The biggest difference is in feel. My previous non-forged wedges just didn't feel and sound as soft as these forged wedges do.20231217_091732.jpg.8ea4a353659fce23b4c71c02041a7f2c.jpg

The only complaint I have about these wedges is that I wish there wasn't red and black coloring on the M logo. I really prefer the silver "M" like on the TS4s, but the annoyance the red gives me is nothing compared to some other brands "cough" :wilson-small: "cough" Kirkland.

I know what you mean. Luckily its an easy fix. Put a dab of paint stripper or acetone on the logo and cover it completely and let it sit for an hour or so. Then brush it off with a nylon brush. Repeat if still some color remains. Came right off for me on the TS1s

Thanks for the tip. I'm not one to tinker, but this is a fix I might consider if the red bothers me enough.

Hey a really quick and easy DIY fix for the logo is a q-tip and a bottle of acetone from a dollar store. Then follow up with some steel wool.

The shape and look of a TSW wedges has to be one of my favorite of all time. And not just from Maltby but from any club maker. If you haven't yet, you'll find out that these play and feel as good as anything

Personally, I have noticed a quality difference in woods between big brands like Taylormade, Cobra, and PING, vs cheaper brands like Tour Edge, MacGregor, and even Mizuno.

I'm not quite sure what it is, but I think most of it has to do with the finish. Because for some reason the paint and seams on my old ST-Z 220 driver and C722 3 wood felt "cheap". Not "cheap" like in a "driver will break" kind of way. Just cheap compared to the Cobra LTDx, Ping G410, and especially the Taylomade SIM2 Max (very high quality construction).

So, even though recently I have been buying inexpensive "value" clubs to replace my old (5-20 years) "premium-ish" clubs. I'm still leery of woods.

Source: I have been able to personally handle and hit a driver from every brand mentioned bedsides Tour Edge (I had a c722 3 wood). The McGregor was a women's driver. Owned by my parents, brother, or me.

If you are talking about the Hot Launch series vs the exotics c722, the feel and finish is very different/ cheapish and some of the best finish and feel Ive had is with the exotics line. And McGregor is budget/cheap. Ive played a lot of different brands and find that each brand often have some good clubs and some meh clubs. Thats why I buy preowned top of the line models hrom previous renditions. Or I just build them. And currently I play maltby irons, Ping 425 max driver, Honma 3 wood, exotics hybrid and sm7 vokeys. All I purchased head only and my bag was about $700 total cost.

Just buy the clubs you like from 1 or two series back.

If you are talking about the Hot Launch series vs the exotics c722, the feel and finish is very different/ cheapish and some of the best finish and feel Ive had is with the exotics line. And McGregor is budget/cheap.

I'm going to clarify differently in case it helps. I don't mean that Tour Edge/MacGregor/Mizuno feel "low quality". I just mean that they feel "average quality" like Wilson/Adams/Cleveland and other "budget" brands instead of "above average" like Ping/Cobra or "superb quality" like Taylormade.

The TC Pro is an absolute beast. From the sound, feel, and low spin nature. It shocked me with its performance.
It's very close in build parameters to the Titleist TSR4. I ran it in a head to head comparison, and the Pro blew it away. Dispersion and control were far better. Sound which is almost hard to believe was just as good if not netter than the TSR4. Feel certainly was.
I did also run the TSR3 against it and that head faired far better vs the Pro. The Pro just barely edged it out.
Oh and the head cover is very high quality and slick looking. 39acd8255dc471389e9eb07bcb07985d.jpgbceec74173f8241a9d1d890d6244d49e.jpg674b465de29b77067e620d473f798c15.jpge0551101a3a8b8ad9eb843c376511cc2.jpg3a78251d354cf642b0f315ba776474ea.jpg15e35f8abb1f4072a0b8566d63410f30.jpg180ed6529eb2672c428756efde4cbfb0.jpg

I really like my driver!  A lot!

But ... darnit.

If anyone compares the KE4 Tour against the Paradym TD, please report in here!

EDIT:  Anyone try hitting the Pro off the deck?

OFFICIAL MALTBY BAT SIGNAL!!!

Anybody following this thread, if you happen to have a spare set of TS1-IM's or a set that you can part with for a month or 2, please DM me!

I'll explain when you message me what this is all about.

Without going into too much detail, it could be an opportunity to be part of something very cool 😎. I'm posting here and on WRX just to increase possibilities.

Thanks!!
