Is it possible to get a download of the number of times each club has been hit? I would find this information potentially useful for bag makeup (i.e. if there is a club or clubs which I have almost never used, consider removal).

"My strategy" brings Shot Scope a step closer to challenging Arcoss's "Caddie" for navigating new courses. Yet, two key distinctions exist: Arcoss is automatic, accounting for environmental effects, while Shot Scope offers a cost-free alternative.

Hopefully, they will continue to improve this feature but for now I’ll pass.

ANCC!!  Sweet!  I played there almost my entire childhood.  I also worked there on the grounds crew all thru high school.  It was our "home course" & we always played what I called the "middle nine" ... the extra nine in the middle of the course.  I haven't played there in years.  I also played the course in Fairfax a lot but not as much as Arlington because I lived only 10 minutes from there.

This is a great question. I'd love to know this info as well, especially as I look to do fittings in the Spring.

For example, under Performance, Tee shots, choose your timeframe 1/5/10/15 2023, etc., then hover your mouse pointer over the club in the Fairway Success area, and it will tell you how many shots have been hit with that club during the timeframe chosen. In the Approach area, select By Club in the Proximity area and hover over any club, or hover over any club in Green Success or Shots to finish, and it will show how many times the club was used for the timeframe chosen.

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been touched on, I have had a quick scan of the thread and didn't notice it. I am thinking of getting the Shotscope CONNEX - the tracker that you use your phone instead of the watch or handheld GPS. Does anyone else use this? I just wanted to check something first

I understand that you tap the club tag against your phone, similar to when we make contactless payments. My main query is do I have to have my phone unlocked and the app open every time i want to tap/register a club? or does it work with the phone screen locked. It will be a pain if I have to get my phone, unlock it and open the app before every shot.

Cheers

I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but I just purchased the Connex and set it up tonight. They have some videos on their website that I was sent to when I scanned the QR code and one of the things they do recommend you have your phone unlocked and the app opened while using it. Here's a screenshot from the user manual:

We'll be curious to see your results especially on battery depletion and accuracy in picking up shots. Also other than cost any reason why you chose to go with Connex vs the X5 or H4?

It was mainly the cost, to be honest. I have been wanting to try ShotScope for a while and I figured this was the least risky way to try it out.

I'm with you, I want to see how well and easy it works plus I'll be curious how the battery life is my phone holds up.

I'm now seeing more and more players here using their phone for on-course mapping/yardages.  Not sure if all are Connex but I guess since almost no one in developed countries, under the age of 90, go just about anywhere without an electronic binky, using it for this purpose makes sense.  Most players here have riding carts which have an outlet to power phones, etc., so battery life isn't much of an issue.  What is, at least for my phone, are summer temperatures 🫠.

I do want to expound more on my post from this morning since I was at work and a bit groggy.

I have been wanting to try ShotScope out as an alternative to Arccos because it tracks a lot of the same stats without the subscription fee that Arccos has. Initially I was leaning toward the H4, I like the fact it has the same sort of display as the watch, without the watch. I have never been fond of wearing one on the course for comfort reasons.

I saw the sale on their website and initially just went over to look at what deals they were running and saw the Connex. We just bought an outdoor griddle and I was looking for a good price and found something I could justify to the wife and $50 ain't to shabby.

I haven't seen to much on it here on the forum, although I will admit I haven't read a lot of this thread. I'm considering doing an unofficial review of the system once I can get out and use it in a couple of weeks. We're working weekends right now and honestly I hardly have time to even look at my golf clubs. I would like to give an idea of how it performs, the ease of use, and how hard it is on a cell phone battery. I think it will be good to get something out there for anyone on a budget to see what's out there in a more budget friendly package.

I'm really looking forward to trying it out.

I look forward to reading about your experiences, especially how much battery it drains. I too do not like wearing a watch when playing, and personally did not want to have another thing to worry about charging and then forgetting to bring with me, which is why I am interested in Connex.

That's a great deal and if I hadn't picked up the Connex system, I would be all over it. Hopefully you'll sell it soon.

Create the new clubs in My Bag, install the tags on the clubs, assign the clubs to the appropriate tags in My Bag. The new clubs will show up in the Performance in a different color so you can easily compare them.

Create the new clubs in My Bag, install the tags on the clubs, assign the clubs to the appropriate tags in My Bag. The new clubs will show up in the Performance in a different color so you can easily compare them.

Thanks. Since it’s snowing here I have some time but I’m looking forward to comparing my clubs in the spring.

As @PhilM75072 stated, it's very seamless & a nice feature of ShotScope. I used it last year to compare two different 3-hybrids & two different Odyssey putters......then shelved both putters after getting fit to a Bettinardi 🙄🤣

  • 2 weeks later...

I considering the new connex, but have a couple questions before I buy it.

1. I play the same course for the majority of my rounds, and want to know if I can look at the hole and see where my shots have gone to see any tendencies.

2. Can you see a dispersion area for a specific club?

I hope I asked them in a way that makes sense. Thank You in advance

Are you looking for an overlay of different rounds that would show the dispersion of a specific club on a specific hole - somewhat like a Trackman would show for a 7i during a fitting? Or are you looking for a general overview? If the latter SS provides performance in several categories: Tee shots, approaches, short game, & putting.

Overlay of the dispersion is what I’d like to see for each club. I’d also like to see a cluster of shots on each hole not necessarily club specific to see miss tendencies.

On the app, you can see tee shots "plotted" for any hole, and you can select a specific club if more than one is used. On the online Dashboard, you can do the same for approach shots. This is regardless of how the data is collected, using any of the watches or Connex.

Here's a screen shot from the SS app. It'll show the specific club and distances. Note: you can toggle between the overview of the hole and the green (green view not shown) . The green view shows the putts and corresponding distances. The dashboard has more specific data but if you're looking for the hole overview - clubs and distances, the app info is easily accessible. EDIT: And yes, I did mishit my drive😣
