Golfspy_CG2
The G430 line isn’t available for the US Market yet. So most here have probably not had a chance to hit them. I’m sure more info will come out in January when it’s released to the US. GolfSpy SAM
I would wager that if you're in the 425, the upgrade would be minimal. From the reviews I've seen from other markets (Alex Etches in Australia has a great review on YouTube), it's a great club, but not necessarily worth swapping from the (already great) 425s. tony@CIC and Mannsy 2 Quote Driver - Callaway Ai Smoke Max - 9* - Draw setting; Maltby UL (Otto Phlex) 5/7 Wood - Takomo Ignis Utility - Caley X01 Driving Iron (3 = 18*) (currently benched) Irons (5-PW) - Caley 01T Wedges (48, 52, 56, 60) - Indi Wedges FLX 48 / ATK 52, 56, 60 Putter - L.A.B. G56788
I recently got fit for a G425 driver. The fitter said he would have the G430s for fitting sometime this month. I don’t know how true that is/was, but it may be worth a call to a Ping fitter.

I attended a PING, TM, TE, Cobra, and Callaway Demo Day a couple weeks ago and the PING rep told me that they expect to start the G430 product introduction here in AZ early January. Apparently AZ gets first looks... seems appropriate. He's been with PING for 16 years, so I have no reason to doubt him. When I was explaining my fairly recent fitting and difficult decision on choosing the ZX5's over the G425's, and that I'm now thinking of going back to GI's (all or part of line-up), he flat out said "you need to wait and test the G430's... they are a big change from the G410/425's in that they have more aggressive lofts but w/o sacrificing launch/ball height parameters". When I said that sounds like more tungsten in the sole, he said he could neither confirm or deny. He's been with PING for 16 years, so I have no reason to doubt him... did I mention that already? I really liked the Cobra ForgeTec X with KBS TDi 75 shafts but will definitely wait to see what the G430's offer. No idea what the G430 driver changes will involve but PING's long and heralded position in this category makes it very likely that it will be a crowd favorite - especially for those wanting a balance between distance and forgiveness. That’s from performance standpoint, MOI and forgiveness being what I’m focused on between the two. There’s a jump of 8% in MOI in the 430 LST driver… Eight may not sound like much, but that’s a pretty big jump from one model to the next. Max is similar, but I don’t remember the number. G56788
Ping’s reputation makes me reasonably assured that the G430s will be an improvement in some way over the G425s. That said, my recent decision to buy the G425 LST I was fitted for comes down to this: (G425 current price + wanting a new driver right now) > (G430 expected performance - G425 performance) I regret nothing. edingc and GolfSpy SAM 1

He’s not wrong about an improvement over the 425 irons. When I saw pics of the 430 irons. I thought they looked big and ugly. But when I saw them on hand and had a chance to swing it. My mind changed immediately. Better than the Foeged TecX? That’s an awfully big task. I will hit them more when our demo heads come in January. About the same time you’ll probably get to see them. But I doubt I’ll buy them. Have my hands full now with the T200 and JPX923 Hot Metal HL The Driver? Too much info to go into hear. But I’m sure Tony’s article in January will have more than enough info on it. Plus there are some European YT reviews already out on it. OH. Not surprised hour rep has been there 18 years. fixyurdivot
Just typed in G430 to see what comes up. Looks like they are close to being available to test. PING G430 Series Driver now has both the G425 strakelets plus the G400 dimple pattern in the Batmanesque flat black color ... digging it . PING isn't buying into the carbon face - at least at this point. The new Fujikura emblem, Alta-Quick base shaft is a change from the last two series. The irons will be available in a standard, retro, and power spec lofts; standard only 1* stronger than the G425's and the power spec matching up with the likes of the ForgeTec X, Wilson D9, and P790's. I'm really interested in how the power spec compare with the Tec X I recently tested. If they offer the like distance and ball height, I'll have another conundrum to deal with . PING's composite shaft options are kind of weak; only the Alta CB and the new Alta Quick as no upcharge options. Hopefully the Recoils are still a modestly priced upcharge. It’ll be my first Ventus Velacore shaft. So I’m excited about that. I plan to try this too, In theory it should fit me well, in reality, you never know. Still need to find a place where I can try ventus velocore shaft in Canada, might have to drive to toronto to get a fit at txg unless they open in ottawa (im from montreal) If not might hit myrtle beach during easter time and will find a spot to get fit for it. Hope it deliver everything you hope for
