Since he's snowed in at present, he probably doesn't realize that HQ swiped one of his irons for this test.    These "Myth Busters" tests are great... I loved that show and many of the topics they covered.  Interesting results; are you surprised?

I enjoy these lab test and smaller tests that MGS does.  While people often harshly criticize them as not being totally scientific or lacking something I find them interesting and probably more relevant to me individually than the full most wanted tests as they simply make you think.

as for this test, It doesn’t surprise me at all.  But I can’t wait to read the comments from people that will disagree with the results,  explain how testing should have been done differently , or say that something wasn’t discussed even though it was specifically mentioned in the article.

I get those that like the look and I am fine with that; I even like the look of lightly rusted wedges.   Even though other sources have disproven the rust creates more spin and MGS did this test, there will be people who will continue to say rust adds spin.

In fairness I have kept the faces cleared of rust and the rest of them are what is rusted.... however I am getting bored so I may go back and strip them back to normal. Who knows!

Those poor clubs.  The pictures reminded of some accelerated corrosion testing we conducted on various parts and materials. Corrosion engineering is a science in of itself, but I'm pretty sure none of the OEM's factored in the degree of exposure you've subjected them too.

You did go check your bag though...right?

I have to admit that I thought rust on the face of a wedge would increase the friction, thereby increasing spin.  This myth has been busted for me.  I play Corey Paul raw wedges which have rusted; apparently for no other reason than appearance.
